Few issues on 2017 Samsung TV 65MU8000.

 

1: This error after turning the TV on and starting the application:

2: Player does not remember playback position if exiting meaning playback will start from the beginning.

 

3: No subtitles with DTS-MA sound track.

I'm getting the same thing on mine, a un55mu6300f, also get endingtimevalue for end time, and continuewatching for resume-able files. all other apps on TV are fine, and all other clients/browsers are fine. I had to replace a last years model (ku6300) and it was fine.

The buttons have text on them during setup, and instead of ends at time showing a time, the text "endsatvalue" is there. Samsung must have changed something. I plugged in last years (partial broke screen), but I can see enough that the ends at value shows, and the buttons are normal. I removed and reinstalled on new tv, it's doing the same.

 

Also, Luke, thanks for all y'all do, I can't imagine what life would be like without emby.

Trying to Direct Play from a Windows 10 x64 Application version: 3.2.30.0 to a Samsung MU7500 with the newest Emby installed. I've tried wired and wireless and from auto to 120mbps. Here's the log of a file that has to transcode as some of mine are fine.

This is a bluray folder rip, right? This will always transcode because Tizen does not support them natively.

 

For a better experience, consider converting to a plain mkv file.

That one is because Tizen does not support TrueHD. Have you checked the manual for your TV in regards to supported media formats?

 

My suggestion - just press play, sit back and enjoy your videos. We have already been through all of this and the app will direct play whenever possible.

Thank you Luke! If I were to use a Samsung 4k bluray player and downloaded the Emby app, would I bypass these current restrictions?

You will have to check the supported formats for the bluray player but I am pretty sure the answer is no. For folder rips - definitely no. For the bluray player I doubt it supports TrueHD.

Wouldn't the bluray player just pass the audio to the receiver (which can handle it)? I can understand the folder rips not working.

It's unclear whether it would try and pass this through or not.  Even if it does, the issue for the app then becomes knowing whether to transcode or pass-through as it has no way of knowing the receivers capability.  I expect this could only be done via a playback menu option.

 

If you play something with TrueHD via DLNA or USB does the TV pass the TrueHD through to the amp, or does it fail or give no audio at all?

My Samsung 55" Smart TV will not play two MP4 files I have on a WD HDD (Plugged into the USB Port). Both files display "The selected file is not currently supported". I checked many related pages, http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/samsung-tv-mp4.html  I would like to think this page can solve my problem but it cannot support Mac OS, so I wanna know if there are similar programs? emby can solve this or not? what should I do next???????? Samsung support didn't give me any feedback

The latest update (1.0.29 - Sep 08) created new issue. See attached file. Looks like EMBY is not ready for 2017 Tizen.

Hello all i have a Samsung UN55MU7000 Tv and where it should say what time the show or movie will end it says Endsatvalue any idea how to correct this? my ks9000 (2016) model does not have this issue
