ebr 14850
Yeah, you can try another log set. Just one of them playing the bad channel will do. I honestly don't expect to see anything very different but fingers crossed... Edit - also play this exact same channel at the same time in the web app and then post the ffmpeg log from that session. Maybe I can spot the difference. Thanks.
haroldmchugh 5
Not an expert but I have worked through similar issues with android players. I set Emby app to downmix to stereo. This forces server to transcode and handles androids audio problems with the codec stream. It also defaults Emby into a full transcode. I worked around this by setting up a LiveTV User in Emby and disabled the users ability to transcode video. The net effect results in direct streaming versus direct playing. The server transcodes the audio but not the video which is much much lighter on the server resources. Uncheck the Direct stream Live TV option in the app as well. Good Luck.

Server Name: Delta-Vega Played channel 653 - Live PD - spinning circle This is with Hardware Acceleration off - on the server and Direct Stream checked in the App. Also attaching server logs. Thanks again! Edit - Tried checking the Use VLC option for live TV. That seems to fix the issue. Played several of the channels that would not play, checking the rest now. Still a bit slow, but I think if this remains stable it is a workable solution to the issue. They are Direct playing with this method. server-63638745928.txt ffmpeg-remux-26d41a30-eeb0-4364-be3f-b6132da214c5.txt Edited August 19, 2017 by kanipek

I did a little experimenting with your suggestions. I saw some improvement but still had channels that give a spinning circle in the app. Direct play is faster for me and that is was I am trying to get working on all the channels. If this method fixed all the channels I would go with it for now, slower than direct play of course but it did seem a little faster than the standard config (forcing Emby to do it a certain way instead of letting Emby figure it out?) Anyways thanks for the info. I will keep it in mind. Might help some others in similar situation.

kanipek 221
Hi. Could you also please do this: Thanks. That ffmpeg log I sent was from doing that. Unless I misunderstand what you are asking. I played the exact same channel on Android TV App/Chrome browser. <-- Is that what you are asking about? If I did that wrong I apologize. I did not specify it in the post that I also did it from the browser. I can redo that test . Edited August 20, 2017 by kanipek

Solution kanipek 221 Posted August 21, 2017 Author Solution Share Posted August 21, 2017 Please see if this is improved with 1.4.43. Thanks. Okay updated to 1.4.43 Unchecked use VLC for Live TV. So far I have checked 10 mp4 channels and they are all playing - so that is a change for the better - not direct playing but they are playing. Speed for tuning the channels is about the same, possibly at bit faster I will checked that more closely as I tune the other channels. I have quite a few more to check. I will report back and upload the debug log and ffmpeg log a bit later. Thanks!

Luke 36877
So this was successful and these logs are just for our reference, right?
kanipek 221
So this was successful and these logs are just for our reference, right? Successful to the point where they played. Yes. Direct Streaming. Unsuccessful that they did not Direct Play. Direct Play does happen when using VLC. It is much faster at tuning/changing channels when they Direct Play. ebr 14850
That's because the channels are interlaced. The only way we can de-interlace them client-side is with VLC. So, at this point, everything appears to be working as it should.

If not will it in the future? and lastly will that negate the need for VLC?
