CrossCech 8
I've spent the last couple hours searching the forums for a solution. I'd like to use trailers from NFL.com for games I record and keep. My structure for football games is using Home videos & photos (as suggested) with season labeled as 2015, 2016 etc. So folder structure looks like this: Team\2016\ 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B.mkv 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B-banner.jpg 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B-poster.jpg 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B-landscape.png 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B-fanart.jpg 2016 Week 02 Team A at Team B.mkv etc ..... Reason being is I'm trying to limit the amount of drilling down to a game and finally clicking play. Click a season, scroll the banners list for game, bring up the play screen of that game & play. If I use TV Series structure it adds another (useless) page. The above structure allows for me to click a season and see a details list (using banners) of games and as I scroll down I'm able to see backgrounds for each game when I pause on the banner. I'd like to add individual trailers for each game that will play when I either pause on the banner (replacing the existing background while playing) and / or when I select the game and it goes to the play screen. I've tried testing different ways using a backdrop folder, naming trailer video files i.e 2016 Week 01 Team A at Team B-trailer.mp4 and rescanned the library. It only works using the backdrop folder but runs all the trailers at the season level. Is there a way to use the trailer.ext and place it similarly as the other art I have listed above and get it work for each game? Kind of wish there was a manual add for trailers like there is for pictures in metadata manager. Thank you for your help.
Luke 36881
Hi @@CrossCech, please check out our wiki to learn how you can name trailer files: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Trailers Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
CrossCech 8
Hi Luke! Thanks for the quick response! Yeah that was one of the first places I found. I named my individual game i.e Week 04 Team A at Team B-trailer.mp4 and placed it in the season folder with all the other games and png/jpg files (banner, fanart, landscape, poster) and did a scan of the library and ... can't seem to get it to work. CrossCech 8
@Luke If I were to make a trailers folder in the full season folder, would Emby / WMC recognize which trailer to play for each game if the files are named the same adding the -trailer.mp4 to each trailer? Luke 36881
No, in that situation the trailer would be attached to the season.
CrossCech 8
No, in that situation the trailer would be attached to the season. So if every trailer is named as it's attached episode (i.e. s15e01.mkv s15e01-trailer.mp4) and all put within the same season folder ... this should work? I'm missing something somewhere in the config page of EMC I figure. I have a test folder with several files with the above naming and i can't seem to get it to work. To clarify, I'm wanting these trailers to basically serve as live backgrounds when selecting a specific game, but before clicking Play. If I'm misunderstanding how trailers are supposed to work in this situation then that's on me. Under View Options in Xenon: Enable Active Backgrounds under Active Backgrounds is checked. Play Local Trailers as Background is also checked under Play Count [1] Under Playback: Enable Cinema Mode is checked as well. I do not have a trailer plug-in installed, but I figured I didn't need one if I was only interested in manually having trailers locally for my football collection. I'm not interested in having the plug in pull in a bunch of unwanted trailers for movies and tv shows and having to clean out those. Latest stable EMC and Emby server 3.2.26.0. What am I missing? Luke 36881
No, to be honest, we have never supported trailers for individual episodes. It might happen to work based on it working generically for all video types, but it also might not. In the event it doesn't work then the best thing to do will be to create a feature request topic about it. Thanks.
