Emby Theatre Feature Parity

In my house we use a mixture of windows, IOS, and Linux systems to access Emby. We generally use Kodi 16 and the Emby Theatre app (windows/IOS).

I am happy with the Kodi integration, but am willing to move more into Emby Theatre to simplify administration. I have chatted with my wife about her preference and she seems to prefer Kodi for 2 reasons.

1. The movie menu: she prefers to see the name of the movie not just a random image.

2. 3D support. And the ability to play a 3D movie in 2D or 3D from within the client.

I am pretty sure that these are both addressable. This thread is about the first problem.

The web client and the IOS clients allow the movies and TV media types to views. Both media types have list and thumb card views. I checked the latest version of Emby Theatre (not from Windows Store) and found that this was not an option. I am going to setup another Linux based client later today and will check if it is there too. Is it possible to have this feature added.

hes probably talking about the movie being shown in "Poster" view on the main movie page.  idk if there is a way to make them display as "Poster Card" in emby theater, that would probably solve his problem, at least for showing the name of the movie.

In the web browser I get a "select view" button.  I want to set emby to always show thumb card as the view.

in Emby Theatre (windows) I don't have an option to select a view.  the default is Poster.  What I want is Thumb Card view.

Maybe make this title more descriptive, like Emby theater - more movie functionality.  As currently, the title seems to suggest Windows/Linux do not have Emby Theater releases.
