docrob 0
Hi. When I try and play native TS recording via my android tv (latest build from google store) it starts and then freezes after 5-10 seconds. Ffmpeg goes to 80-90% CPU so it is transcoding it which is what I want. Is it problem with the ffmpeg version. This thread https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46005-playback-with-transcode-stopped-working/page-2 Talks about trying ffmpeg 3.2.3 but not sure if my problem is exactly the same and that thread seemed aimed at Linux use. I am running server on windows 7 (i5 CPU). Also can't find 3.2.3 64 bit version. All the old builds for ffmpeg are just listed by data and no version in the read me file. Any pointers appreciated. Thanks. Rob
ebr 14910
Hi. When it "freezes" is the app still responsive? Is the transcode actually progressing? Can we please see logs (server and ffmpeg) from when this happens? How to Report a Problem
docrob 0
HI, Here are my 2 log files and I also sent a log from android tv app (version 1.4.17g, Lounge Server 3.2.20.0) - sent at 19:00 UK time. When I try and play the room 101 ts file the android tv app spins and takes 20 seconds before still video is show then eventually plays for 3-4 seconds then freezes. App is responsive and ffmpeg is at 90% + on my i5 CPU. I think I noticed ffmpeg crash and restart quickly but I could have been wrong. Either way no video plays. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Rob Emby ffmpeg Log.txt Emby Server Log.txt
docrob 0
Is there an older build (or newer build coming out soon) for android tv app that I could perhaps try. Or is there a different version of ffmpeg I could try? Thanks, Rob
maegibbons 1267
@@docrob Android TV app version 1.4.17 is known to work well enough for what you are wanting to do so a different version is probably not the answer. First off, what hardware are you running Android TV on? Lets rule out any strangeness there. Krs Mark
docrob 0
Hi mark. I did wonder about the android box but got no other android devices to compare with. It was off amazon about 6 months ago. docrob 0
The other video apps don't work either. Connection is wired Ethernet, not wifi
maegibbons 1267
Hi Rob I have been through the cheap chinese box route myself. They generally are NOT fully Android TV Specification compatible and you can get all kinds of weird issues even though the emby ATV app seems to install and load ok. Which is why I now stick to Fire TV box or Fire stick or Xiamoni 3 TV box which is a proper Android TV box. My recommendation is to get a standard box so that the devs are not chasing their tails on edge case issues. docrob 0
Just ordered a fire tv box. Thanks for the advice. Life is too short for too much troubleshooting. I will report back when it arrives tomorrow.
maegibbons 1267
Fire TV is my main Lounge box connected by AC wifi and I have very few issues. Good Move! Krs Mark
docrob 0
Hi Mark. Is it just me or do you find sometimes/often the live tv dashboard info shows 3 tuners as watching when only 2 recordings are in progress. Any ideas why this extra tuner is being occupied? Thanks, Rob
docrob 0
Just in case no one believes me. Now it says 4 tuners in use and 4 lights on hdhomerun box supporting this. Screenshots attached. Excuse the choice of programs. This must be a bug surely?

Thanks, Rob Hmm I believe I have noticed recently that Tuner re-use has a bug somewhere. I think somtimes Live TV is not releasing the tuner but until i have tested more thoroughly I cannot confirm that. Think it has crept in over the last 3 major releases.
