Hello,

I just read https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/47304-

"(...) Okay, folks this is the next step in our mission of consistency across the apps.  Version 1.4 of the Android TV app (just released to the Google beta group) now changes the basic library interface to have "tabs" like the web app and Theater.

You now should be able to quickly get to each different view of each library and choose how each library is displayed - and the presentation should now be pretty much the same as the other apps. (...)"

The best thing what I saw there was "sortorders"

Any idea when this will be implemented on the web gui?

Especially the "date added" order for my albums/movies  (newest added items on top) is something I really miss now.

kind regards,

B

Now we need to learn and improve, what prevented you from being able to click and discover that?

my stupidity? :-)

I was looking at http://tv.emby.media --> no sortorders (or at least not with me)

If I look at http://app.emby.media --> there you have sortorders,

I'm a little bit confused which direction Emby is heading for the web gui...

I thought that http://app.emby.media was preferable?

kind regards,

B

app.emby.media is what you are accustomed to for mobile and desktop layouts.

tv.emby.media is designed for tv usage, but is still missing a few features such as sorting and filtering.

Ultimately they will both meet and converge into a single app but we are not quite there yet.

Hi Luke,

But if I compare the Emby Theatre (deskop app on WIN10) with the web gui, it looks like it's a copy of tv.emby.media and not app.emby.media....

Or is Emby Theatre considered as "designed for TV usage", even on my desktop PC, and -if so- what is considered as mobile/desktop? Only the web gui?

I hope they converge soon...! (with the best of both :)  )

Your questions are confusing me, sorry. If you pick mobile display mode then obviously it's not targeting tv anymore.

Sorry Luke, probably a language problem (native speaking dutch..)

I will try it again:

1. my web-interface (on desktop):

2. my web-interface (in "tv-modus")

3. Emby theater: Full blown application on running on my desktop of windows 10:

If I compare 3. to the others, is looks the same as 2.

But is is a desktop application, not running on my TV, right?

So, I suppose this desktop application on my computer is the same as "app.emby.media is what you are accustomed to for mobile and desktop layouts", but it looks like "designed for TV usage".

Or maybe I can pick a different mode on my Emby Theater application?

sincerely,

Bart

I guess to clear up any confusion, this a feature request for Sorting to be added to Emby Theater, since ET (tv.emby.media) and Connect are two different interfaces..  Which covers three versions, ET for Windows, the Windows 10 app, and tv.emby.media.

@Happy2Play: as sharp as always :-)

Exactly what I meant.

And now back referring to the original post: is the "Version 1.4 of the Android TV app" considered as ET (and are the sortorders already implemented than) or is it considered as "Connect" ...

Well it is a separate app (Android TV app) just like I would not call the new Roku app "ET" even though the layout is the same.

A lot of the filter and sorting have not made it into all the client apps yet.
