Hi there,

I cannot playback to my Marantz anymore. It worked quite good before. But after the last two updates it does not work. I can select the Marantz SR7007 and start playing but the player bar does not proceed ;(

Just on a side node. With my Fairphone 2 (Open OS 17.04.0, with only F-Shop installed) the Emby client also stopped working. I am getting a blank page with the man icon at the top right. Clicking on it leads to some page with programming code showing up.

Greetings and thanks again for your good work!

Ha now I found out what it is. The opus support stopped. So files encoded with Opus do not work anymore via DLNA.

To my laptop the streaming works fine. MP3 to the Marantz works also. Only selecting OPUS files is breaking it on the Marantz via DLNA

I don't see any playback attempts in that log. Are you sure that's the right one?

What Emby client are you referring to for Fairphone 2?

Okay strange. I seem to have copied the wrong log file. Sorry for that. Try this one. At the bottom you'll find an entry. So shortly after I gave the user the permission to do the playback.

The Android emby client you normally get from the Android Play store.

Hello. I updated emby server to version Version 3.2.20.0 and the Opus playback to the Marantz device is still not working. Playing it back on the laptop works.

Attached the new log. The appropriate log entry can be found here:

"2017-06-25 12:47:08.1511 Info SessionManager: Playback stopped reported by app DLNA 3.2.20.0 playing Wie soll ein Mensch das ertragen. Stopped at 0 ms"

EDIT: the UI shows a playback always to 1s then jumps to the next song.

Well the log shows all the device info.

FriendlyName:Marantz
Manufacturer:Marantz
ManufacturerUrl:http://www.marantz.com
ModelDescription:AV SURROUND RECEIVER
ModelName:*SR7007
ModelNumber:7007
ModelUrl:http://www.marantz.com/

So it is a matter of device limitations for which profile to use and modify.

Since the default profile is being used, a starting point would be adding some of the friendly information to default profile and removing "OPUS" from direct play, ensure to modify the "Generic Name" to anything different before hitting save.  Sure you can update it afterwards if you forget.  This is to ensure you are able to see if the profile is being used in the log.

If needed I can make these modifications and upload here.

Hi thanks for your information. I will play around.

But why did it stopp working?

Now it is roughly around three versions back where it stopped working.

@@Happy2Play Okay with the profile settings I got it working.

Now how can I reduce the transcoding process and how not to loose quality again by encoding it to mp3?

And I am actually quite sure that on the admin page it never showed that it had to transcode the OPUS files.

@@twinkybot what do you mean by this?

And I am actually quite sure that on the admin page it never showed that it had to transcode the OPUS files.

We have never had a Marantz profile before, so the server never knew if opus needed transcoding or not.

Unless you can find other documentation Opus is not a supported format.

Hi there,

I was waiting for the Support of marantz. Yes they also told me that OPUS is not supported by SR7007.

To explain what I meant please look at the attached image.

The playback worked before. I could play my OPUS files via the SR7007. But I never saw on the admin page any information like you see on the image that it transcoded the data.

Maybe this is only due to the profile.

Back to the question instead of transcoding it to mp3 what should I use not to loose quality again.

I use a high setting on OPUS while encoding from wav.

When I am back on my private laptop I will post my settings.

Sorry to bother again. But I am still trying to transcode to wav.

What do I have to set in the DLNA audio profile to make this work?

As container I set "wav"

as well as audio codec.

But then it seems that Emby understands the audio file as a video and tries to download subtitles.

Roughly at 9:20 o'clock

Most probably I got the wrong impression due to the REST calls to the subtitle API.

I tried the following transcoding settings:

Container: wav

Codec: all (or wav)

and

Container:flac

Codec:all (or flac)

Which lead to no playback at all. Details with debug in attached log file. The errors at 2018-02-05 12:35:18.619 are from restarting and trying to playback where the DLNA device still was not found (which takes btw quite long 1+ min).

it is working only with

Container:mp3

Code:mp3
