elpirate 5
Hi there. I created a new share folder for TV Shows that I am happy for all users (myself and my son) to access. I have set it up correctly and defined the content type etc and completed a library scan. I created this folder 4 or so days ago and have moved all the shows that I want to exist in their. The shows are all showing up no problems as far as the previously downloaded episodes go however I have added some episodes to 2 of the series in the last couple of days and Emby will not recognize the newly added episodes. I have tried executing an additional library scan but this does nothing to fix the problem. I though that by refreshing the show in the App would help but this didn't either. I have also tried to restart the server and nothing. I'm using 3.2.16 as 3.2.17 is not yet available in the Qnap community. Why is this happening?? What can I do to fix it? I have attached 3 log files where log 1 is the most current. I had to save them manually as accessing the log directory on a Qnap is a pain in the ass. The log files that are older than the attached will not allow me to save or view them, I get this message in the browser instead "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: dest" Thanks Log1.txt Log2.txt Log3.txt
Luke 36817
@@elpirate, do they show up in the web interface? can you show us what the folder structure looks like? thanks !
elpirate 5
Hey Luke. No it does not show up in the web interface. The folder structure is very simple, a folder called "SHARED TV SHOWS" then folders for each shoe with folders for each season that have the episodes within them. It's the exact same set up as my other folders that are working fine. All of the shared folders exist in the usual "cachedevdata/Multimedia" default path that is on most Qnap machines. What more can I do to show you the structure? The shows I have in there all worked ok before when they were a part of the "ALL TV SHOWS" folder that has the bulk of my shows. elpirate 5
Just to clarify, the folder and older shows show up in the web interface and everywhere else, but the newly added shows do not. It's as though emby doesn't know to scan that folder. Edited May 25, 2017 by elpirate
Luke 36817
@@elpirate, can you show a screenshot of the complete folder contents, as well as the folder above? thanks !
elpirate 5
@@elpirate, can you show a screenshot of the complete folder contents, as well as the folder above? thanks ! Attached is an array of screen shots outlining my setup and file structure. The folders and files in question are highlighted in yellow. The other shared folders are shown as being in the same folder as the one I'm having issues with. See the Emby screenshots to see what has been identified. The "Joel's TV Shows" & "Joel's Movies" shared folders exist within the Joel's Video folder seen on the Qnap & windows screen shots. The newly added items within the "Shared TV Shows" folder that I am having issues with do not show up under any user. Emby screenshots are from my account which is the administrator. Let me know if you need any more screenshots or info. Thanks

Luke 36817
can you find it using the search feature?
elpirate 5
Haven't as yet will do so tonight. I doubt that it will work though- emby hasn't even identified the file in the first place. I'm going to try deleting the share folder that contains the shows and episodes in question from the emby library, then re add / assign it and then put a few episodes in the folders to see if emby detects them. There may be some sort of bug that occurred when I added / assigned the share folder in the first place (getting desperate here!!) I'll let you know if it works. Solution elpirate 5 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Solution Share Posted May 28, 2017 Okay so I fixed the issue. I deleted the share folder from the emby library then re added it. Not sure what happened in the first place, but its all working now, shows are updating when added. Thanks for the help!
