Same machine yes, different machine no.

 

Then this is almost certainly a firewall or other network configuration issue.  Until you can get the basic communications going, none of the apps will work.

 

One thing to check is to be sure your network on the server machine hasn't been classified as "Public".

Does your machine have an ipv4 address? If yes, can you try entering that manually into the Roku app? Let us know if that helps. Thanks !

Yes, tried that and it just hangs as if it's loading. I think it may be my firewall

Are you able to connect from other devices, like for example the web app using a smart phone?

Ok, that at least tells us something. I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter. Please try the steps listed there and let us know exactly what succeeds and what fails. Thanks !
