Really needed. Since three years.....

I love Emby.  I love damn near everything about it.  The fact that I can't assign m3u playlist to specific users doesn't make me not love Emby, but it sure does make me sad :(

I admit it's way over my head, just seems to me it should be possible to do right?  I'll never leave Emby, whether this feature gets added or not, but it would be very useful if it was....

Still a fan of this idea of being allowed to assign an m3u and epg url per user. +1

+1 for the multiple list , no list then no IPTV access at all for that user. 2 birds 1 stone .

Really?  We've requested this for 5 years AT LEAST.  Funny monitoring you use.

Shamelessly bumping this. Lotsa changes to TV in current betas. this would be a massive bonus before final hits?

For my use case, this would be important for iptv with limited simultanious streams.

There are quite a lot threads about it:

So hopefully an implementation is not too far away 🙂

@cayars, isn't the next-gen LiveTV addressing this?
I think I read is somewhere but am not sure anymore...

You can do this ussing tags:

IE:

m3u1 all channels tag with list1

m3u2 all channels tag with list2

m3u3 all channels tag with list3

then, in user  settings assign the blocked tags, IE:

user1: blocked tags: list2 and list3, this user only can load m3u1

user2: blocked tags: list1 and list 3, this user only can load m3u2

....

is a little tedious, but can be done

Just jumping back in on this... since the UI already exists within emby for live tv (tv guide etc), would it be fairly simple to allow the server admin add in a users own m3u and epg url into that specific users profile? They'd be limited to whatever their providers limit on streams per their own account. Emby would just be the player for that account. I'm sure its more difficult than that, but hoping this type of feature can be implemented soon. If emby is just used as the player, the signal is received directly from the m3u server and not the emby server? the emby server just gets used as a login portal at that point and then the handoff to the tv server? I'm probably missing something here though.
