I've subscribed to emby premier, and I created the neccessary folders for live movie backgrounds.  They show up on the WIndows UWP app but not Emby for WMC.  I've had these working before but I cannot get them to work now.  What could I be doing Wrong.  I have tried the Chocolate, and Subdued skins but nothing works.  Thanks.

In order to avoid making a duplicate post, I'll just resurrect this one.  Ebr, on your recommendation I'm asking for help figuring out why the movie theme video plugin will work on the client side in the UWP app, the chrome web browser, and android but not emby for WMC.  What information can I give you that would help me help you solve my problem.  One thing to note is that emby recommends I use another browser when I bring up the Emby.media web page in internet explorer, and I have not seen the video backdrops playing in IE but I have not tested it too much either.  About two or three months back I had this same problem but it was somehow fixed.  I don't remember if I made a change to fix it, or what change I could have made to fix it.  I am using the chocolate theme, and I have active backgrounds enabled.

What item are we talking about?

Can I please see the server log from the same session?

As many details as you can provide help us a lot since we are working completely blind.  Thanks.

The previous log I posted is my emby for wmc log.  Towards the bottom of the log you will notice that I selected a few movies that should have active backgrounds, which work on other applications.  In emby for WMC, when a movie is selected, there is an icon consisting of an arrow with a circle attached.  If I click to the right of that icon, a box appears with a dark transparent effect, and a white border where I'm guessing the video background should be playing.  Each Item (?) I'm referring to is a movie.  Here is the server log from the same time period.

That log is from the day before the EMC log unfortunately :).

I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are describing though.  Can you post a screenshot please (as well as the server log from 9 June 21:00)?

Sorry. I'll get that server log up here in a few. I have emby server installed on a pc that also contains all of my movie folders. A majority of those folders have a folder named backdrops which contains the video backdrop for that movie. I am logged into emby connect on this machine. On a separate machine I have wmc and emby for wmc( both machines actually have emby and emby for wmc). I have the active backgrounds enabled for both instances of emby for wmc but the live backgrounds will not play on either machine. The live backgrounds do play within the emby win 10 app and in a emby we browser instance. On both machines when I select a movie I get a movie poster instead of a live background in emby for wmc

You have several other themes of varying levels of development installed.  Can you please try un-installing them...?

I removed all plugins on my client except for chocolate, and nothing changed.  Do you want new logs?

Yes please.  What format are your themes in?  Is this format playable by your WMC machine?

I think there is an option somewhere in the EMC settings to not show the now playing view as full screen. Is that turned on?

I can see and play the theme videos in my movies library in WMC.  I toyed around with now playing view options, and turned everything off one box at a time until I didn't have backdrops anymore but it didn't help.  The fullscreen arrow, and box were still there but no video.  When this was working, I think I remember the backdrop playing inside of the small box, and as the backdrop.  Here is today's client log, and if I have time tonight, I'll post the server log.

I thought about this a little more.  I think the setting your talking about is called NPV under the chocolate general theme options.  When the box next to it is checked the switch to fullscreen arrow appears in the middle of the screen, and that is what I'm seeing that I thought the theme video would play in but that's not accurate.  The theme video would play in the background, and because it was loaded into playing now, it would also appear in the NPV view.

hi @@jachin99, can you update to the new release of Emby Server and please attach a new log?

Before you get your hopes up, this won't resolve anything but I am curious to see the log in the new version. Thanks.

Can you open up the web app to any item detail page and then replace the item number in the url with the value below and hit enter - then tell me what you see.  Thx.

I'll try this as soon as I get some time with my machine, hopefully tonight.  I am curious though what does that string reference, and where is it stored on my PC?  Should I do this on the server, a client or does it matter?  thanks

Is there anything special or interesting about your movie setup (file structure wise)?

The file structure looks like

M:/Media/Movies/Avengers/backdrops

Other than that, I have quite a bit of metadata in each movie folder but I can't tell you exactly whats in each movie folder off of the top of my head.  In terms of metadata providers, on the server i have Media Center Master (Free version) Emby, Ceton MMC (I think this uses YAMM to create metadata), and EPG123 (This pulls metadata for my guide from SD), and Recorded TV HD.

I would like to condense that down to one provider but I'm not sure which program would be best.   At a minimum I need the SD data from EPG123, and if I decide to keep Emby for the long term, i'll need Emby also.  Would UNC paths naming have an effect?  I seem to remember posting about this or getting an answer about it.   I'll look around for that conversation also.
