Backdrop image disappears

I'm having this issue on 3 different kodi boxes. Not sure if the issue is on the addon side or server side.

Server is running on freenas 9.10.2. Version 3.2.9.0 which is the latest available for freenas.

Kodi app is version 2.3.46 from the stable repo. 1 box running windows 2 boxes running openelec.

When I first start the kodi box everything functions great. After 3 or 4 hours the backdrops stop showing up. This happens for both movies and TV shows. Reboot the kodi boxes and they all come back for a few hours then disappear again.

I would suggest posting on the official Kodi forums. This has nothing to do with Emby or Emby for Kodi (artwork displays, but dissapear, sounds more like memory or storage or caching issue).

I would usually tend to agree but with the same issue happening on 3 different devices with 2 different os' and 2 different versions of kodi and all 3 starting the issue at the exact same time... the common denominator would point to emby.

I should also add I have 1 folder of video files (p90x type workout programs) not run through emby but directly through the kodi library. Those files show the backdrop images, but those images are stored in the folder with the video files

It's not Emby for Kodi since it only adds artwork url to kodi; if the url is valid and they display, then Emby for Kodi completed it's job. Kodi caches artwork; are you using a local storage or are you sharing your thumbnails between Kodi devices?

When the issue happens, is your server accessible? I would check that you have enough storage on your Kodi devices. Artwork cache piles up after a while.

Again, I don't think it has anything to do with Emby, for the simple fact that artwork is automatically cached by Kodi and therefore your server artwork is not queried more than once by Kodi (unless you change the artwork or you reset your database). A Kodi dev would be able to point you towards a solution I am sure.
