Not going with electron 8?

I ran into some problems that I don't see on the electron 9 betas, therefore I don't think it's worth fighting with it. We can just wait for electron 9. Plus the reality is, we're building a whole new windows app, so jumping forward to every single electron update is only going to slow us down. Taking every other update is fine for now.

Build in the first post is updated again. I decided to give Electron 8 one more try, and I'm no longer seeing the problems I was before (related to back button). So one of their maintenance releases must have caught that.

So now that gives us a bump to Chromium 80.

And is this the release that's going to make it to Xbox One? Same app right?

I had this same issue, but with the Dark theme instead. Just set the settings theme in Display to whatever you want. The option "same as main theme" doesn't work.

Hi there Refresh Rate switcher still isnt switching back to desktop default refresh rate when exiting a movie or ET (back button or X close ET)

Default settings - ie. no mpv.conf and ET 3.0.11

play movie at 23p and exit movie or close ET and refresh rate stays at 23p (this is on a monitor with default refresh rate of 75hz)

As Doofus is leaving us I will attempt to show what I have found useful and my current settings. As each panel (tv/display) will require unique brightness/contrast configuration and also sdr/Hdr content will require their own brightness/contrast configurations (if using the below in your mpv.conf) I have added a link below which contains brightness and contrast calibration videos (get them while the link still works)
Steps:
1. Make a backup of your mpv.conf
2. Copy below (starting from ##VIDEO## into your mpv.conf and save
3. At the end of “VIDEO” change gamma to =0( so we can capture correct calibration for Hdr settings as gamma for HDR content should =0 and video files are sdr only)
3. Run brightness and contrast video and adjust brightness and contrast settings under “VIDEO” e.g 4 or -4 until showing correctly (should be obvious what to do when you play each calibration video)
4. Copy captured settings manually into “HDR” section (at the bottom of the config)
5. Change gamma back to 14 (for sdr content config) and then run brightness and contrast calibration videos again and change settings under “VIDEO” until correct
6. Save mpv.conf file and test sdr/HDR content
7. Save your self future pain and add brightness and contrast calibration videos to your Emby library for ease of play/testing

Calibration videos:

Where is @doofus going has he given up on htpc. I have given up on theatre long time ago and now happy with android tv as it gets constant updates and it is closest you can get to wmc replacement.

Build in the first post is updated with the latest test version. This is not the new app I've been mentioning, but something in the interim.

It reworks the way we package mpv and resolves the longstanding window transparency problem with the video OSD that some users experience. Everything related to video playback will need to be retested. Thanks guys.

can't get mpv-1.dll to load any scripts

desktop still "shines" through for a second on transition to the next episode

episode1 ends -> desktop visible -> default backdrop visible -> episode2 starts

^ still present, even on start, but now the emby UI "flashes" instead of the desktop

clicking the x in the top right corner to close the window, still only closes the videoplayer

have to click twice to exit ET

playback started and changed the refresh rate, however there were a few flashes of nvidia green-screen distortion on the way to playback.

didn't use h/w acceleration even when told to use mpv.conf

changed refresh back after stopping playback.

only tried one movie, and that's all i've got time for for now!
