Support for logging users in though URL scheme

Would it be possible to support users logging in via a url scheme say using basic auth like:

https://user:pass@localhost:8920

OR by using GET params such as

https://localhost:8920?user=username&pass=password

Heck I would even take passing a token to use

https://localhost:8920?api_token=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I would like to be able to log users in automatically if they authenticated somewhere else. Specifically we just rolled out emby login support in Organizr v1.31 (https://github.com/causefx/Organizr) so if a user authenticates with their emby username I would like to be able to log them into Emby simultaneously.

Thanks!

https://localhost:8920?api_token=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I think this would be the best option, as username and password would not be visible in the URL.

@@Luke, enough monitoring. The fact that SSL, LDAP, and SSO have had year+ long requests go unanswered with actual progress is getting quite annoying. At least this would be a way to let the users get some of that functionality in the meantime.

I'm regretting going with Emby Premiere more and more every day.

Not trying to be a dick, but it would be nice to see some progress on this stuff soon. I feel like I misspent my money.

My god, same man.  @@Luke I know we probably come off as dicks because of how frustrated we are getting, but surely you can empathize in some way.  We are highly supportive and active members of the community.  I absolutely love what you have spent time to create and I know you don't always have time to reply immediately, but it has been YEARS for some of these things and some things like SSL are really a necessity for this service.  I would think security to be a high concern for your users, but it seems abstract features and DB improvements are taken at a higher regard.  The basics of security and versatility should be taken at a priority, or at least updates every so often to show us you take these requests seriously by offering some type of update.

I LOVE this product, do not get me wrong and I appreciate everything you have taken time to organize, a lot.  I frequently boast of this product and convince my clients to install/buy emby premier.  I have gotten 15+ clients to purchase lifetime premier so far, without any request for recognition or thanks.  I am completely dedicated to this community, but I would appreciate just a little consideration for my requests, they have been the same for about 2 years now at the least.

Is there a reason besides capability these requests aren't making progress?  I am almost beginning to think it is just being passified because you want to force people into connect, but that is only because no other reason has been given, I would love to be proven wrong.  You even said about a year ago it was next on your priority list, to which I offered $1000 to complete it more quickly, perhaps that could pay a dev just to complete this part.  Please just try to see our perspective, we are dedicated heavy users, so much so that we constantly check for updates.
