Windows Store App and windows 10 volume reversed

So this week i downloaded the windows store version of Emby because I put my htpc into tablet mode.  While adjusting volume with my multimedia keyboard the volume goes one direction for windows 10 and the opposite direction for Emby Theater.  For example if i want to turn the volume up the overlay for Win 10 will increase and the volume in Emby Theater will decrease.  I am not using any special drivers or software for the keyboard.  I also tried with 2 different older HP media center remotes and they had the same issue.  I don't have autohotkey or anything else running that would remap the volume controls either.

I am running the libcec tray application from Pulse eight because that is the only way I can get the libcec drivers to work with Emby.

For a further test i loaded the installer version of Emby Theater for windows 10 and both volumes move in the same direction.  I apologize if this bug has been reported before but I couldn't even think of what search terms to use to find it.

hi @@sansoo22, thanks for the feedback. While I don't see this issue in my own testing, I will be on the lookout for it in the future. thanks.

I see the same thing on my tablet. Example, the volume is at 20%, Emby Theater shows the bar 80% green and then as I raise the volume using the hardware buttons on the tablet the Windows volume bar shows 40% but the Emby Theater bar is now 60% green and 40% gray.

It's not the biggest issue I have with Emby Theater at the moment so didn't bother to mention before but I can confirm there is something wrong with the volume display.

On Windows this is normal, I am sorry that you feel it is an Emby app problem. The in-app volume meter displays the volume assigned to the app. When you adjust the global system volume, the operating system will then adjust the volume of each app. So what are seeing with the in-app volume meter is the app simply reacting to those changes and displaying the result.

I think perhaps what we should do is just not have an in-volume OSD, and then there will never be an opportunity to think that something is wrong.

Are you sure? I don't understand why the Emby volume OSD would go down when the OS volume OSD goes up. If it were the OS adjusting the app volume to compensate the overall volume I hear from the video wouldn't change but it goes up as expected.

That's probably fine on Win 8/10 which has it's own volume OSD display but other OSes don't. Can you do an OS check if you end up doing that?

I see the same issue when accessing https://tv.emby.media using the hardware volume buttons on my keyboard.  The bar always moves opposite of the direction you are going.  When I bring the system volume to 0, the bar is full green.  At system volume 100%, the bar is completely grey.

There's nothing that can be done about that other than reporting it to MS and just not having a volume osd.

I also have the same issue and it's really annoying. Sometimes after changing the volume up and down during a session using the volume rocker, the OSD volume can end up at 0. And then I have to adjust both the OSD volume and the system volume to set the volume level I want. Pressing the volume rocker up should not make the OSD volume go down. No other media players act this way.

If the only solution is to not have the OSD volume, then that would be 100% better for the people using a tablet with hardware controls. Make it an option under the settings page to disable the OSD volume slider.

I'm running on a Surface Pro 4.

Surface Pro 3 and Win 10 creators update here.

No issues with the hardware volume keys. They increase and decrease the volume properly and it corresponds to the green bar increasing and decreasing in the OSD.

Perhaps keyboard volume buttons are treated differently (old mce standard?!?)
