eddyhall 0
Hi all, I am having a strange problem. When playing video files in Emby for WMC, the picture is zoomed (despite being on Normal zoom setting in the settings) but only when WMC is maximised. When WMC is windowed, the video is at normal zoom. I have played with opening the same file in WMC and the video plays perfectly. Any suggestions? This issue has presented from about 1 week ago and I don't think that we did anything actively to start it (like chaning a zoom setting). Cheers,Eddy

ebr 14910
More than likely, this is related to your display setup in WMC itself. Try changing that to a different TV type.
eddyhall 0
Hi ebr, all, Thank you very much for the reply, ebr. I have investigated this somewhat yesterday and discovered the following: 1) If i change my screen type to "Television", a large underscan was created and the video played in emby with a zoomed style within an underscanned box (see attached image 1) 2) If I played the video fullscreen in VLC The playback was perfect (see attached image 2) 3) If I change the screen type back to "Flat Panel", the video played in embywith a zoomed style with the screen normally advised for overscan (see attached image 3) 4) If I played the video fullscreen in WMP , the playback was perfect (see attached image 4) I also observed that this is true of all videos played in emby (H.264, H.265), true of all videos played in VLC and WMP, and all TV or video played natively in WMC plays normally with no overscan/zoom problems. I observe from the images that the zoom looks like a 200% zoom applied in EMBY. Cheers, Eddy
ebr 14910
And you are sure you haven't set the zoom mode inside WMC itself?
eddyhall 0
Emby zoom is definitely set to "normal" in every case. TV zoom setting is set to "Zoom1" which is normal. I see no other global zoom setting for WMC. Edited March 30, 2017 by eddyhall
Solution ebr 14910 Posted March 30, 2017 Solution Share Posted March 30, 2017 Emby zoom is definitely set to "normal" in every case. TV zoom setting is set to "Zoom1" which is normal. I see no other global zoom setting for WMC. When you play something in the stock WMC movie library, you can bring up an OSD which has zoom settings on it. Play this same item using this method, bring up the zoom settings and see what it is set to.
eddyhall 0
SOLVED! After the last reply I decided to play a home movie AVI file in the normal WMC video player (actually Pictures->Associated Videos) to see if I could find another zoom setting. Lo and behold, there was another set of 4x zoom levels and I was stuck on "zoom2". Changing this setting to "zoom1" cleared up the experience in emby immediately. Thank you for the help, ebr Edited March 30, 2017 by eddyhall
