mastrmind11 717
I switched out my old consumer grade router for a USG and now am unable to access Emby on the WAN, either by IP or Emby Connect (Connect doesn't even show a server available). I have forwarded Anything/8096 to my internal Emby server, but still nothing. I know a couple of you run Ubiquiti products and am looking for suggestions on what I might be missing in my configuration.
Doonga 17
Should look like this, yes the IP is fake. (Sorry for the ginormous picture, not sure why that happened.) Edited March 16, 2017 by Doonga
mastrmind11 717
yeah, that's what mine looks like too. It's sitting behind a craptastic Fios router in a DMZ forwarding all traffic to the internal subnet. Maybe the internal gateway IP changed, but I doubt it. I'll keep digging in my limited spare time, but am open to suggestions. Thanks
Swynol 375
im guessing your getting out on the internet with the usg? check on the unifi controller firewall. after setting a port forward you should also see the rules in WAN IN. use a online port checker - http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to see if its an issue with the port or something else? mastrmind11 717
tl;dr I didnt reboot the USG post migration for a new IP. fiigured it out. I had the USG set to DHCP so it was getting it's IP from the DMZ, which at the time still had the main router connected at the DMZ forwarding IP (since I didn't want to hear the wife b***h about no internet while I was setting this up). Once I removed the old router (while she was out shopping...), I neglected to reboot the USG and was thus still on the DHCP assigned IP that wasn't forwarded by the DMZ. what I can't figure out is why when I set a static IP on the USG to what I want/what it is supposed to be, I get no WAN connection even though the DMZ is forwarded there. I'll save that conundrum for a weekend where I don't have kids smashing my keyboard. Thanks for the help.
