bigjohn 655
I notice you mentioned NextPVR in your first post. Isn't there a NextPVR plugin already being developed? Don't remember where I saw it, but I thought I read that somewhere.
Lee 204
People keep asking if there are going to be any new TV back-ends, not a lot of people are doing much to make it happen.... argustv, dvbviewer, dvblogic or next pvr are all possibilities I've been to each of their forums and tried to drum up interest with not much success tbh... a few more people requesting could help. DVBViewer seem to be of the opinion we have to make a plugin ourselves so you could try drum up interest for a dev??? http://www.argus-tv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4594 http://www.argus-tv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=4809&p=0&e=0&sid=e2d99d9e93c82b18474318732391d679 http://www.dvbviewer.tv/forum/topic/53943-dvbviewer-as-backend-for-mediabrowser-3-tv-service/ http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?p=1384513 http://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=26828&p=86088&hilit=mediabrowser#p86088 http://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=26032&p=85963&hilit=mediabrowser#p85963 come on people... And any devs who think they could create a sat-ip plugin for dvbviewer hit the forum mod on the DVBViewer link . cheers lee
mini__me 23
Just read the DVBViewer thread and I think you misunderstand the reply there possibly. What they are saying is that their recording service supports SAT>IP clients, something I didn't know and a very good selling point! Their suggestion is actually a very good one that should someone develop a SAT>IP Client plugin for MB3 you would be creating a plugin that would not only support the DVBViewer backend but a whole multitude of hardware about to hit the market. Check http://www.satip.info for info on manufactures due to bring products to market. Unfortunately I'm no developer myself, but I think the suggestion is possibly right that we may have better luck from a Dev here that's worked with UPNP / DLNA as in concept they are similar ideas as I understand the way SAT>IP works
Lee 204
Yeah i got that, Luke said we support sat>ip we just need a plugin for the server. Seems dvbviewer aren't going to make one any time soon.... Hopefully a dev will pick this up, I've used dvbviewer and although the remote control/10' UI is poor the software overall is fantastic. I ran my motorised dish with it for a number of years. Transponder and channel editing is a breeze and the video and audio codecs are all configurable. Luke 36879
Can you guys go back to each of those sites and mention our chromecast announcement? http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-36-media-browser-ready-to-cast-stream-your-local-media-to-chromecast/ Let them know their back end will be chromecast compatible if they work with us. Don't remember where I saw it, but I thought I read that somewhere. I am busy with that. I don't have as many time as some other developers. But there is some progress.

Luke 36879
Tell him Roku has seen 25k+ downloads in just a few short weeks and isn't slowing down. His back end can be the back end that powers the first live tv app in the Roku store.
politby 88
Luke, I think what is needed now w/ r t DVBlink is for you lead devs to get in direct contact with Oberon and his team, now that they have stretched out a hand. I recall they brushed you off earlier, but they seem to have had a change of heart...
wallaceff 3
Sorry to post from another thread.... Not sure where to post this as there isn't a LIVE TV forum...Just wondering about other Live TV servers.... Specifically Argus TV... I messaged the developer but he says he is waiting on the MB team to get back to him? Any updates on this?
paulcdb 5
I'd love to see argus tv supported just because I find the scheduling to be one of the most flexible... but I don't really care 'how' tv arrives so long as the scheduling is decent! And roku (well, NowTV) support would be great! After lots of lurking, trying stuff out I think MediaBrowser has the most potential as an all-in-one.

Question... how come our ServerWMC backend/plugin which is already working with MB3 server, wouldn't be the first one for Roku?
scarecrow420 8
got it I was just confused if there was some issue with ServerWMC that needed addressing that I wasnt aware of
Luke 36879
It will be. Its just a way of selling it to the developers. Besides roku won't know what back end is being used so to the user it will be whichever one they happen to have
Luke 36879
Sven, but he's currently finishing up the next pvr plugin. Maybe he'll consider argus after that.

Tranquil 93
As far as I know DVBLink offers an API to gain access to their EPG and Streams for 3rd party applications. I used an example code many month ago and it was easy of use if I remember right. Furthermore I would love to see the guys of MB coding the frontend UI of live TV that looks the same on every TV backend running, maybe also using skins. If you compare the MediaBrowser3 Android App with the App provided for LiveTV of DVBLogic then you know what I mean and why. A common solution in one UI for all TV backends would be that great! Me too, Argus is the best scheduler, simple to use with the most advanced functions. I do understand that one of the mediabrowser dev.s had a problem getting Argus to play with his tv tuner. If one of the mediabrowser dev.s want to do some work with Argus then im willing to ship you a usb dvb-t/c tuner that I have used with Argus with no troubles.
