Thanks for the reply. Yes after update the problem persists... i have done the new update from qnapclub.

do you need a log or something for when you have time to check on this?

Something must have blown away your configuration at some point. Is it possible you deleted a directory? What if you reconfigure, does the same thing happen again or do the settings stick?

i barely touch the nas, i didn´t change any directory. The server is up and running without issues... if i enter embyconnect through the forum it shows up fine.

It is just when i open through kpg on appcenter that doesn´t show the normal way

i don´t have tech skills... so sorry if i don´t know how to explain properly

I think i have installed from app center the first time, uninstalled it via app center interface and then i have installed from qnapclub, everything was working fine until i rebooted, i have updated the latest releases and it always prompt me to wizard start.

Not sure where to check, but i can ssh and do some cd and ls commands to check if i have more than one installation but i don´t think so, i can also ask the question on qnap forum.

i was just reporting it, because the server is working fine.

Thanks @@Norin. I would check on that. Actually, here's what you can do. Use the app.emby.media web app to get to your server dashboard. Scroll down and expand paths section. it will show you various server paths.

Then on the other, go through the setup wizard until you get to the server dashboard, scroll down, check out the paths and compare. Let me know if this helps. Thanks !

Right but notice the heading that says

Optional

So you can leave that field empty for now just so that you can get through the startup wizard.

+1 to the Wizard start page issue..

Running 3.2.1.0 installed (updated to) via qnapclub repository

Can't remember the first version I installed from there, but added the repository in QNAP back then so have been upgrading via the App Center ever since.

Only seen on this release..

I can hit next, skip through and all my previously configured settings are still there - with the exception of the custom path for ffmpeg..

My paths look correct as far as I can tell - haven't changed anything manually:

Cache:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Emby/Emby/ProgramData-Server/cache

Logs:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Emby/Emby/ProgramData-Server/logs

Metadata:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Emby/Emby/ProgramData-Server/metadata

Transcoding temporary files:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Emby/Emby/ProgramData-Server/transcoding-temp

Cheers

Sam

@@samwise78 i am guessing it is something related to switching installation methods. anyway, we are looking at taking over more responsibility over the qnap package so over the next couple months we'll get all of these little quirks ironed out. thanks.

I'm having the same issue.

I did a controlled shut down of my QNAP NAS and upon restart the Emby Server didn't start automatically.  When I went into the app centre to open it I was taken to the start wizard as described above.  Strangely while the wizard didn't know where my ffmpeg (?) codec thing (I can't remember the name) location was, it did have all my libraries pre-loaded and once the wizard was complete it was back to normal.

Looks like after a reboot the Emby doesn't know it's already been set up.  Shouldn't it also restart on a reboot, or is there a setting on the QNAP to do this? (guess it might now work if it defaults to the setup wizard?)

Do you guys still see this with the newest emby releases? Just so that you're aware, we're working on a new Emby QNAP package that will be produced by us rather than QNAP, and we'll ensure this never happens again. Thanks !

Yes, i have been updating frequently. The problem no longer exists.

thanks for the support.

Qnap alongside Synology are one of the best on the market, i hope will have more emby followers from Qnap.

I updated this past weekend on my QNAP and I'm pretty sure I recall going through the same 'setup' of Emby to get it started after the upgrade, though I think it didn't ask me for the ffmpeg (?) link this time around and it may have started automatically with the reboot - sorry I'm so unsure, I was having other network issues at the time and just wanted to upgrade Emby and get running again while fixing other things so I wasn't paying much attention.

If you are now working on a QNAP package does this mean it'll be able to auto update (or self update), rather than having to periodically download and install manually? This would be a great improvement.

Just to follow up, I rebooted my QNAP today.  After the system was up and running I opened the Android TV App on my TV and the Emby server appeared to be running as the library came up without issue, though I didn't play anything.

However when I connect to the QNAP over the lan from my PC and opened Emby via the App Center, then I was presented with the "Welcome to Emby" screen and I had to complete the wizard and browse to the FFmpeg location ... I just clicked next, next, next ... as it's all prepopulated and then once the wizard completes I see the Emby Dashboard.

Ok, well, QNAP is next on our NAS list so we'll have a whole new package in the very near future. It won't be a problem anymore at that point. Thanks.
