Odd Startup Problem

So I am experiencing an issue that is a little hard to describe, but it definitely is ET breaking for me, so I'll do my best.  My wife and I are looking to switch from KODI to ET, at least for now, because of the MADVR support.  Sometimes when clicking the shortcut to open ET, we instead open what looks like a minimal version of the app with some notable differences from the full ET.  For example, usually in ET I can hit  backspace from the main menu to pull up the menu for exiting, in this version I have to click the person icon in the top right corner to pull up this menu, and there is no exit option.  Is this perhaps a tablet interface?  Anyways, in this version MADVR also does not start up.  However, once I get the correct ET interface to appear, all is fine as it should be.  I have no real strategy for getting the right interface to pull up other than just trying again and again and again until it does.

Maybe you've also installed the uwp version which doesn't have those features.

Yeah, it sounds like you've installed both versions. If you have installed a version from the Microsoft store, that's the UWP app. If only want ET desktop, uninstall the store version.
