NemesisZeRo 7
Hi all.. I've discovered that skipping forward and/or backwards don't work when I'm streaming in 4G mode. I tried the same movie on webbrowser (Works), I tried on samsung pad, wifi (Works) I tried on samsung j5 wifi (Works) But when trying on samsung j5, with wifi of, it just won't do that. I'm attaching a screen record of the last try (mp4) https://Dropbox.gr1.se/clip.mp4 I've compared the log files, and there is no difference between the ones that works and the one that don't. The server is transcoding the movie at all sources.. (Attaching movie data) Anybody got any idea?
NemesisZeRo 7
No one that ever had this problem? Is this a bug in the android app? Edited January 25, 2017 by NemesisZeRo
shorty1483 450
I tested on my two devices with a movie with exact same specs like yours and for me skipping works in both direction without any hickup.
Luke 37022
It is a problem in the mono TLS implementation. The upcoming 4.8 release will overhaul and replace with Google's Boring SSL. You can read more about it here: http://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/releases/4.8.0/ Thanks.

You can read more about it here: http://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/releases/4.8.0/ Thanks. Thx, not that I understood everything about it, but I see now that it's an SSL/https issue, because when changing back to http it works. Is this a android app, server software, or something with the computer system?
shorty1483 450
It only occurs if you're using SSL (https) I'm using https over a Reverse proxy with CHACHA20_Poly1305 cipher inside a VPN connection and even in this constellation it works. What platform is you server? Edited January 25, 2017 by shorty1483

Https requests are handled by my Reverse Proxy. Nginx built against openssl 1.1.0c so the https requests come plain from nginx internally to port 8096 on the emby server. I guess @@Luke is right with his suggestion.

Then it's solved, it's an SSL issue, and since it works fine for you, I guess it's has something to do with emby and Windows. My problem then is how to solve it, I didn't understand what @@"Luke" was referring to; an upcoming release of something.. Is it for Windows, emby, something I need to install myself, automatically.. ... Or is there any other solutions that a (user with good computer knowledge, but not a wizard) can use? NemesisZeRo 7
I'm wondering @@luke .. How come this issue only occurs with 4g?, and not with wifi? Should it not be the same issue on wifi since the error is "ssl"?
Luke 37022
Maybe on wifi it's not using ssl? Have you double checked that?

theeternalmushroom 4
Same issue here on https. Doesn't matter if 4g or wifi, switching to http solves it. I have my cert installed on Android. I notice in the logs: System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: A call to SSPI failed, see inner exception. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: An unknown error occurred while processing the certificate
NemesisZeRo 7
Mine has suddenly started to work.. I added my own ssl certificate, s and added an external address.. Must be some kind of bug like Luke said, in the ssl, hopefully a new release will fix it, but when, nobody knows..
