Smaky 131
It isn't possible to use the windows 8.1 app on the same machine as the server due to the loopback restriction imposed on metro apps by Microsoft. I believe there's some third party hack that can bypass it but I don't know much about it. Thanks Luke.... that helped.
Smaky 131
After launching the app I got to the screen where server data is requested. I have captured it in many ways as the server and the win 8 application reside on the same machine... tried with localhost, FQDN (local domain) and even the IP address and I always get "hotsname not recognized. Please check the name is correct and try again" error. Note: I disabled my AV completely to ensure this is not a port issue. I also have Mediabroser theater installed in the same computer and it works with any of these configurations. What could be wrong? Where logs for this app are located so I can take a look at them?
