Swynol 375
So wondering how people manage heat in AV or server Racks. i have a small rack in a cupboard. the rear of the rack is against a wall so the exhaust heat doesnt really have anywhere to go. I fitted a bathroom extractor fan in the ceiling which extracts air and dumps it into another room. I also have grills in the bottom of the door to allow cooler air to enter. at the moment i keep my hard drives around 32-35c however i will be changing case soon which is a little more restrictive so am looking for ideas to add additional cooling. AC isnt really optional. I may use a 1U fan unit ontop of my rack which may help extract heat from the cab somewhat.

colejack 30
My rack just stays out in the open in my office. While we are looking for a new house one requirement is a closet or other extra room that I can dedicate to the rack and I will add active cooling to that room. Most likely will just have a heavy duty duct fan pull hot air out.
