pt1xoom 12
I have gotten a few Roku Express's for gifts for my family, and I would like to start using one in my house. However, the problem is I have multiple people that have their own accounts, and I would like them to be able to use the Roku. In my brief exposure to the Emby App, I was able to set up a user, and their account would automatically load the next time it was started. For this to work in my house, I would need it to ask me which user is logging in. I know that the Roku app is able to do this up to this point. Now, if I have already entered in my password, I would like it to be able to just log me in without asking for my password every time. When I get done watching TV, I turn off the TV. Then when my daughter comes to watch TV, she would just pick her name and because I've already entered her password, it would just go to her account without asking for the password every time. Is there a setting that allows me to do this, or do I have to enter in my password every time? Roku Express Server Debain 3.1.2.
Happy2Play 8145
I believe the is an option in the app Preferences to remember last user. Have you looked in the password area, you have to have a set password first to see this section. Dashboard-Users-select a user-Password-Easy Pin Code Enable in-network sign in with my easy pin code If enabled, you'll be able to use your easy pin code to sign in to Emby apps from inside your home network. Your regular password will only be needed away from home. If the pin code is left blank, you won't need a password within your home network. pt1xoom 12
- Happy2Play - Thank you very much. I tried to set the flag without a PIN, but it won't save. When I enter a PIN, it just spins. So, something is broken with the PIN system. I'll start another thread with that. - Luke - Thank you, but this only allow me to save one user. Once you log out, it make you enter the password. I also use the Samsung smart TV app, and it works perfectly. When you log out, you just select the other user. If you have entered the password, it just logs you in.
Luke 36887
i thought that's what you wanted, to login again?
Guest Grace1313
It seemed to me to be more of a pain to use separate accounts for each user. I found it much easier to set up one account with a separate library for each user. You can then allow access to libraries depending on the user and use parental control for the kids. The only problem with this method is if your kids would access your library instead of their own. Maybe setting up a pin for the adults libraries and none for the kids is an option. That way if they accidentally chose 'dad' as a user it would require a pin to access. Edited December 30, 2016 by Grace1313
Solution pt1xoom 12 Posted January 4, 2017 Author Solution Share Posted January 4, 2017 Hello, I thought I would report back that the setting "Enable in-network sign in with my easy pin code" worked perfectly for the Roku. I have the Roku set to not remember my login and on my user account, I did not set a pin code. Now when I start the emby app on the Roku, it asks which user. I select myself or my girlfriend, and it uses that account. Of course, my kids are old and no longer at home, so I don't have to worry about adult content. Thanks
