dimitrik 12
I was wondering if anyone has used the configuration backup plugin to set up a server on synology. I am running a server on windows but I have also been testing the server on my synology NAS. I have configuration backups from both the server on the synology as well as windows. I'm guessing restoring from a configuration backup from the synology back onto itself is going to work fine. But what if I want to restore some elements from my windows server onto the NAS? I'm thinking that restoring system configuration is a bad idea, but what about users, library setup and plugins? Would that work ok, or would it mess everything up? Any ideas? Luke 36888
Using the plugin is should be fine, although avoid restoring the library definitions. after you're done, you may need to sweep through the web interface and correct any paths that are no longer valid, such as cache path, metadata, transcoding-temp,e tc. @@ebr may have additional insight. Let us know if this helps. thanks !
