I am not able to connect to my server locally unless I switch my firewall off in Avast.  Then everything works fine.

In my Avast settings, I have the following Application rule, but it's still not working.5851819070f9a_avastEmbyException.jpg

Any ideas?

Not familiar with Avast!'s firewall software as I tend to stick with Windows built in firewall. Is the rule being linked to the EmbyServer.exe or is it a gobal rule to open those ports?

When you say locally are you referring to the same machine the server is on or any machine on your LAN?

I believe the rule is applied to the application.  I've also created a packet rule that should make those ports generally open.

And by locally I mean devices connected to my home wireless network.  Everything shows up fine on the machine the server is on.

At any rate, I think I fixed it.  In my Avast Network profiles my home wireless had been designated "Public, High Risk" rather than "Private."

Now that it's "Private" everything seems to be working.
