manf0001 4
Hi, I'm testing out Emby on Open Media Vault. I'm running ver 2.2.13 of the NAS and version 3.0.8500.0 of Emby. Everything got setup fine, except I can't play back any video. When I try to playback on the emby app of my phone I get a Video Playback error. When I try to play it on my browser it will just keep spinning like it's trying to load. I looked at the transcoding log and found this in the log. I've also attached the full log ffmpeg version 0.8.18-6:0.8.18-0+deb7u1, Copyright © 2000-2014 the Libav developers built on Oct 4 2016 17:59:06 with gcc 4.7.2The ffmpeg program is only provided for script compatibility and will be removedin a future release. It has been deprecated in the Libav project to allow forincompatible command line syntax improvements in its replacement called avconv(see Changelog for details). Please use avconv instead.[matroska, webm @ 0xca3c60] Estimating duration from bitrate, this may be inaccurate I've tried doing an update of ffmpeg but this seems to be the latest. Has anyone come across this issue and know how to fix it? Thanks ffmpeg-transcoding log.txt
Luke 36879
Hi, the problem is that's not ffmpeg, that's libav. Try downloading this version: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources/tree/master/ffmpeg/linux unzip it, make sure it has execute permissions, then configure it in the Emby Server dashboard under the Transcoding menu. Jdiesel 1112
Seems like a very old version of FFmpeg. Can you try unpacking this static build someplace on your NAS where Emby server has access and pointing Emby to that folder by selecting a custom path to FFmpeg under your transcoding settings? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources/tree/master/ffmpeg/linux
manf0001 4
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunatly, when I downloaded the file and extracted the two files to a folder on a HD that Emby has access to. When I told it to use the location to where it's at I get this error. I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions. We're unable to locate FFmpeg using the path you've entered. FFprobe is also required and must exist in the same folder. These components are normally bundled together in the same download. Please check the path and try again. I even tried a reboot of the emby server and now it's coming up with the wizard again. and still I get the same message when I select the path. Luke 36879
try pointing to the ffmpeg file instead of the folder, let me know if that resolves it. thanks.
Jdiesel 1112
Did you have any success updating the static build of FFmpeg linked?
manf0001 4
Sorry about the lateness.. I got the same message even if I selected one of the two files directly. I've decided not to move forward with using emby on the NAS, I'll just stick with it on my Linux server. Thanks
