Tanamur 53
Emby Server WindowsPublic: v3.0.8500 Amazon DevicesBeta: v1.2.77a Trailers Add-in1.0.6103.26386 Hi Forum - I'm having quite a bit of difficulty with the "New & Upcoming" content and function of my Trailers Plug-in. I have tried to trouble shoot it by uninstalling/re-installing to no avail and am wondering if there is a way to purge or reset the content. Problem #1 (image below): I have the sort option set to "Date Added" but it appears the trailers are sorted in numerical/alphabetical order (e.g. 13 Minutes, 20th Century Women, A Monster Calls, A Dog's Purpose, etc...) Clearly the trailer for Almost Human is from a movie released in 2013 so way out of date for the settings Problem #2 (image below): The toggle to display watched/unwatched trailers has a problem. As you look at the current setting to display Unwatched only, several of the trailers have green ticks indicating they have been watched yet still display. If I watch a trailer without the green tick mark (Arrival below), it will disappear after being played and the next trailer will slide up to take its place (Assassin's Creed). Also, if I re-watch a trailer with the green tick mark (Assassin's Creed), it too will disappear and next in order will slide up to take its place (The Autopsy of Jane Doe). So, this functionality seems to be working as designed now but all previous watched/unwatched trailer status have a problem. Is there any way to purge or rebuild this info? I am happy to start over with no viewing history. Problem #3 (log attached): Attempting to add any trailer to a queue/playlist crashes Emby every time. The Emby app locks up completely, after about 15 secs the screen goes black and the back key no longer works. I have to hold the Home key on the remote for about 5 secs to pop up the mini-menu for Sleep, My apps, etc and return to My Apps. The Emby app no longer works and I have to reboot the FireTV to re-enter the Emby app. Attached is the server log for the crash only. I realize this is a lot in one post but all three of these issues have been this way on my installation for months and I was waiting for a few releases to address them before documenting them. ebr 14862
Number 1 is a problem that has existed in the server for a while I believe. I think it is sorting them by date added, just in ascending order instead of descending. The server appears to be ignoring this parameter. The other two I have not seen and will need to look into. Thanks.
Tanamur 53
Thanks for the reply @@ebr - Here are a couple of follow-up items I have noticed about the issues: Problem #1 (image below): The web based interface for "New & Upcoming" trailers does provide the Ascending/Descending filter option which the AFTV app interface does not: Problem #2 (image below): When I go back to the AFTV app and display the same view as I displayed in the original post for watched/unwatched, the app has lost the history and displays all "watched" videos including the ones I saw disappear with my own eyes previously (not duplicated in image below). However, in the image below, you can see the "unplayed" filter works fine and filters all "watched" trailers from the display. mit3gt 6
I have another question, why do trailers older than 2016 show up at all? I just want "new and upcoming trailers" like the name says under the folder when you enter the folder for trailers. I only have "include trailers from new and upcoming movies" checked in the cinema mode settings under Internet trailers, yet I get trailers from 2013, like Almost Human. Tanamur 53
Emby Server WindowsPublic: v3.1.2.0Amazon DevicesBeta: v1.3.16aTrailers Add-in1.0.6150.25153 Hi @@ebr & forum - I have updated to the beta version of the Amazon FireTV (AFTV) app and have the latest public release of the server. I see no change to the behaviour of the trailer plug-in in the beta version from the things I reported at the end of November 2016. Were you able to confirm the same behaviour? Any plans to add an Ascending/Descending option to the AFTV app and is there anything I can do to get it to recognize the played vs unplayed status? Thanks in advance. ebr 14862
Sorting by Date should now be in descending order. I don't know why the watched filter isn't working. It is only a problem on trailers it seems though.
Tanamur 53
Sorting by Date should now be in descending order. I don't know why the watched filter isn't working. It is only a problem on trailers it seems though. Thanks for the quick reply @@ebr - On list of items here is what I have noticed: Problem #1) Sorting - Yes, this is now sorting in descending order which is a nice improvement. Problem #2) The issue of not being able to filter out viewed trailers is really quite annoying and I would like to request a bit more effort to solve this. As I mentioned, it partially works immediately after viewing a trailer but once you exit trailers and re-enter, the ability to apply the filter is lost even though the trailers are still marked as viewed with a green tick mark. Problem #3) I no longer experience the app crashing when selecting/ticking the option to "add" a trailer to a queue (which is very good) however, where is this queue? It is not a playlist and when I add several trailers to this "que" and then select the last added trailer to play, nothing plays afterwards. What happened to the que? Tanamur 53
If you go to the home screen, after adding something to the video queue, it will be the first item on your "Continue Watching" row. I don't have the trailer queue list in my Home Screen Continue Watching section of Beta: v1.3.17a or the web interface. I have exited the app altogether and re-entered as well and still no trailers added to the four(4) existing "continue watching" items.
ebr 14862
The video queue only exists in the Andriod TV app and only lives for the current session. Did you click the "Add to queue" button on the detail page? Tell me exactly what you did. Thanks.

Did you click the "Add to queue" button on the detail page? Tell me exactly what you did. Thanks. Hi @@ebr - Okay, I have been able to reproduce the problem now that you have explained how it is supposed to work. The first time I tried it, I used the "Add to Que" arrow+ second from the left for a few trailers(see photo attached). On the last trailer I selected, I went ahead and just hit the play button thinking it would play this trailer and all trailers I had just added to the queue...this doesn't seem illogical to me. This last trailer detail window I entered played with no problem, stopped and then nothing played from the queue. When I visited the home screen, there wasn't a queue created there in the "Continue Watching" section either. So watching the one trailer inside the Trailers add-in deleted the queue I had just created that was supposed to appear in the Continue Watching section of the Home Screen. This is a new Problem #4. However, (see photo attached) if you simply jump from trailer to trailer to trailer clicking on the "Add to Que" button, then DIRECTLY exit trailers and go to the Home screen, you will see a trailer queue waiting to be played and with the option of creating a Playlist from the queue. Be careful, if you play any of the trailers it will be deleted from the queue and no longer available to be made part of the Playlist. This doesn't particularly flow very well from my perspective.... ebr 14862
Okay, thanks for the explanation. The queue is designed to be very transient right now. If a number of folks assume it should work how you were expecting it to, we can investigate changing that.
Tanamur 53
Okay, thanks for the explanation. The queue is designed to be very transient right now. If a number of folks assume it should work how you were expecting it to, we can investigate changing that. Okay great, sorry I didn't explain it very well to begin with. I just really didn't anticipate looking outside the Trailer add-in for the que/playlist. What seems useful to me would be, from inside the Trailers add-in, to simply play or shuffle play the currently displayed order of trailers. Once the played/unplayed status filter is working (nudge, nudge), that would be a simple way of just playing new trailers. I do find it quite time consuming having to enter each detail page to add a trailer to a que/playlist. Maybe a few auto-generated lists like "New trailers this month/quarter/year" would be of interest. Maybe in the short term just a pop-up menu option when focused over a trailer thumb to add it to the que would be handy as well... I know it is very easy to come up with feature enhancement ideas when I don't know the first thing about coding. Please know it is all constructive Cheers, Tanamur
ebr 14862
The video queue can hold anything. It isn't related to trailers. That's why it is at the top level.
Tanamur 53
Emby Server WindowsPublic Version 3.2.22.0Amazon DevicesBeta: v1.4.21gTrailers Add-in1.0.6150.25153 Hi Forum - It has been over six months since I last brought this up. Is there any chance we can get the watched filter working for Amazon FireTV? Also, I do realize that the trailers themselves are dependent on the source(s) however, many of these are four years old. Is there any chance to add a date filter? Thanks for revisiting this, Tanamur
