schumi2004 9
Is there a way to let Emby server always add a subtitle suffix by default (eng, dut, ger etc) when 1 language is selected? What i have seen now is that when you enable subtitle download and only select 1 language the subtitle file will be: some.movie.name.2016.srt When multiple languages are selected it's this: some.movie.name.2016.dut.srt some.movie.name.2016.eng.srt I would like to see an option to have the same behaviour when 1 language is selected, is that possible? So when only English is selected the subtitle file will be: some.movie.name.2016.eng.srt and not some.movie.name.2016.srt And a option to define language code our self would be nice also. Luke 37007
Hi, we already do that. If you're not seeing that, it's because the language code must not have been included in the open subtitles response.
schumi2004 9
How do we we know if opensubtitles supports this? For example, if dutch isn't included in response why is it if you select multiple languages?
schumi2004 9
Can't we hardcode this and make multiple formats available for saving ? Because now it's pretty frustrating when 2 apps that can be used together maintain different formats. For example Kodi uses, nl, en, de but Emby uses dut, eng ger. When a subtitle is manually downloaded tru Kodi Emby won't recognize this because language tag is different.
Luke 37007
Actually we do support the 2-character convention as well.
Luke 37007
Here are subtitles I downloaded using the web app, which came from open subtitles:
Luke 37007
I then renamed the srt file
Luke 37007
Either way, the results are the same:
schumi2004 9
Thanks Luke but i think i wasn't clear on my initial question. I'm searching for an option to change the language tag used by Emby upon saving. So instead Emby saves the srt as en.srt instead of eng.srt. /Edit: Got it fixed for the moment by using advanced settings in Kodi: http://kodi.wiki/view/advancedsettings.xml#languagecodes Only issue left is the language tag not being added when you only select 1 language for subtitle download in Emby. schumi2004 9
Tested several times but i really would like to see a optional option (or please consider to add it) in configuration to add language tag to the downloaded subtitle file file when only one language is selected. Currently it doesn't and it gets messy when you have other subtitle tools running that do save it with language tag included!
Luke 37007
What I would suggest doing is trying again with the next release of Emby Server because I cannot reproduce the problem no matter what my settings look like. Everytime I download with open subtitles the language is always saved into the file name.
