I imported some music albums today and synchronized them with Emby/Kody but when i wanted to play them i'm getting unable to find file messages.

The data is stored on the same storage as my movies and series are, it has the same NFS rights as others and i'm capable to access them via file browser.

I removed the source several times in emby and also removed and re-added the share in Synology DSM (again with same rights as others)

I'm capable to play songs with Emby browser, i can play songs in Kodi using file manager but not using the default Emby/Kodi behaviour.

This is what i see in kodi.log

23:51:40 T:11072   DEBUG: CPlayerCoreFactory::GetPlayers: added 2 players
23:51:40 T:8884   DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::RunQuery took 1 ms for 8 items query: select * from episode_view  WHERE episode_view.idShow = 52
23:51:40 T:8884   DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::RunQuery took 1 ms for 36 items query: select * from episode_view  WHERE episode_view.idShow = 53
23:51:40 T:11072   ERROR: DVDPlayerCodec::Init: Error opening file musicdb://albums/2/29.mp3?albumid=2
23:51:40 T:11072   ERROR: CAudioDecoder: Unable to Init Codec while loading file musicdb://albums/2/29.mp3?albumid=2
23:51:40 T:11072 WARNING: PAPlayer::QueueNextFileEx - Failed to create the decoder
23:51:40 T:11072   DEBUG: CApplication::OnQueueNextItem: play state was 1, starting 1
23:51:40 T:11072   DEBUG: CApplication::OnPlayBackStopped: play state was 1, starting 0

I also checked Emby logging but couldn't find a trace related to this.

I'm using Emby addon version 2.2.52 and Emby server 3.0.8300.0

Music doesn't work the same as the video library. Can you confirm what the path is, by going to one song and opening the info panel. You should see the path at the bottom. Can you confirm the path is correct? Otherwise, try running a repair sync for your music. Let me know if it helps.

NFS Paths are correct.

When doing a Music DB repair i get the same message.

When i ignore this and let it import i do see the songs but can't play them. I also can't see the specific path in Kodi for a single song or full album so i'm not sure what is being called.

For series/Movies you see plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/? etc etc but can't seem to find this information for music.

Did you apply the path substitution in emby? Open your emby dashboard > library and select your music library > folders and add the network path nfs://10.0.0.125/volume2/music/

Then run another music repair, this time it should use your nfs:// path rather than /volume2/ which is invalid in Kodi.

As I said previously, the music library doesn't function the same as the video library. Currently, if I had to guess, It's direct playing your movies and tv shows via HTTP, not NFS. Repeat the path substitution process for them, then simply go to the addon settings > playback tab > disable play from HTTP. This should allow Kodi to playback from NFS. Keep me posted.

Adding network path to folders worked for music and series/movies but noticed something frustrating playing a newly download episode.

At 6 AM a episode was downloaded by Sonarr and this also triggered Emby to update library ( i see this in telegram and pushover notifications).

6 hours later a repack was downloaded but for some reason it didn't triggered emby to update library and couldn't find a quick way to rescan this episode only in Emby.

I think i have misconfigured notification settings in Sonarr but need to check this.

I also noticed CouchPotato isn't sending a library update after download completion, need to check that also.

For now my issue regarding music is resolved, thanks again.  ;)

Open the metadata info for the item you want to update, in the emby webclient, hit save. This will trigger an update for the content in Kodi.

Odd that it didn't pick up? Was the end filename the same for both versions? I don't think I've experienced this issue.
