TheShanMan 34
I've noticed lately that some of my videos don't play back smoothly. They have subtle stuttering that you don't notice unless there is a fair amount of movement (e.g. people walking/moving). I don't see the stuttering in VLC or in WMC. Is this a new problem in ET? Is this a known issue? Any way to troubleshoot this? I tried turning off the option to change the refresh rate to that of the video and that made no difference. Not sure what else to try though. Guest asrequested
The videos that don't play correctly, are they similar? Have you tried not changing monitor rate?
TheShanMan 34
The two I noticed last night were both AVC in mkv containers. If you mean the refresh rate setting, like I mentioned originally changing that setting made no difference.

If you mean the refresh rate setting, like I mentioned originally changing that setting made no difference. It might be a muxing issue. Every now and then, I get a file that doesn't play quite right. I run it through mkvtoolnix, and it plays better. Try that. It's very quick and easy to remux.
TheShanMan 34
I shouldn't have to do that every time I run into this problem when other players play them right. I'd rather ET be fixed.
TheShanMan 34
Still wondering when this will be fixed. After having some problems with MBC in the last few days, I figured I'd give ET a try again but still experience the jittery playback which doesn't occur in MBC. Marc_G 92
@@TheShanMan, I have similar non-smooth playback just in ET (not in MPC-HC or Kodi) on my machine too. See here for lots of helpful advice I got, but the problem didn't yet resolve: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42451-how-to-diagnose-and-correct-flickery-video-in-et/ In my case I'm operating under the assumption that ET isn't yet optimized for wimpy boxes like my Tronsmart unit, but if other more capable units are seeing it, perhaps there's a different issue afoot. I can't say that any of this applies to you, but the helpful community suggestions in my thread might possibly assist your own troubleshootin. Luke 37046
@@TheShanMan @@Marc_G The next release of Emby Theater will feature improved performance, hardware acceleration, and better multi-monitor support. If you'd like to try it out ahead of time you can do so here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46763-theater-mpv-test/page-1 Enjoy.
