Jivebunny 1
Hi, I have a problem whereby video playback stops intermittently and I have to resume the playback. This happens on most videos I play. I have Emby Server running on an i5 Windows Server 2012 R2. I've checked the CPU usage on the server and it's around 10% utilisation when playing back. I've noted in the logs that emby is denied access to the NFO files in the particular folder. This is consistent with the time when the video stops playing. I've made sure that the media centre has full access to the media folders. For example. The following film stops playing on exactly the same time as this error Program data path: C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server Application Path: C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Access to the path 'H:\Documentories\Horizon 2016 Ice Station Antarctica\tvshow.nfo' is denied. System.UnauthorizedAccessException at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at CommonIO.ManagedFileSystem.GetFileStream(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Boolean isAsync) at MediaBrowser.XbmcMetadata.Savers.BaseNfoSaver.SaveToFile(Stream stream, String path) at MediaBrowser.XbmcMetadata.Savers.BaseNfoSaver.Save(IHasMetadata item, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MediaBrowser.Providers.Manager.ProviderManager.<SaveMetadata>d__60.MoveNext() I've attached the log for reference. I'm running a media center on a quad Core, 4mb System. 250gb SSD. The setup is wireless. It's streaming from a Emby server which is upstairs on server 2012 R2 setup. Media centre is on OS windows 10 with media center (WMC was installed separately as W10 does not come with Windows media center) Then Emby installed for WMC. This media center is very lightweight with no additional applications. Therefore should handle all kinds of media playback. Hope that makes sense. ebr 14903
There is no log on your post but I need to see the EMC log, not the server. That error on your server is coincidental and not related to playback in any way - except that the two errors may be happening for the same reason like the location of both the nfo and the media becoming inaccessible for some reason. ebr 14903
I don't see anything unusual in those logs but, since playback is being managed by WMC itself, we may not see anything unusual if, for example, the drive or server with the media became inaccessible for some reason. To our app it just looks like playback is stopping because either it was told to or the file ended.
Jivebunny 1
Thanks for looking. I looked into the server side in more depth and noted Symantec Endpoint Protection was blocking an outgoing connection for Emby server on port 1900. I've allowed this through the firewall. I need to do some testing to see if this rectifies the problem.
Luke 36999
Good info, thanks. That is used for dlna though so it's not likely to have much impact
