Will not respond to remote when first opens

Emby Theater seems to have auto updated, I checked the log file and it says it is version 2.5.22.0, there is no longer version numbers in the settings, so it is difficult to know when it has updated and what version is running.

The issue is that I use a Logitech Harmony remote and I have a button mapped to open Emby Theatre as a shortcut (Ctrl + Alt + E), this has been working well for a while, but in the latest version, once ET is open, it doesn't respond to any remote commands, it seems that it loses focus, so I have to grab a mouse and click somewhere on Emby Theatre to 'bring to front' then it responds to the remote commands again.

Is this a known issue? Can it be fixed (please).

Thank you!

Thanks for the fast reply. It has happened at least 3 times now BUT that PC has also just installed the Windows 10 anniversary update, so it might be something to do with that.

Also, it happens when I first boot that PC so I am now wondering if it is to do with delayed start up items that are 'stealing' the focus from ET.

I shall investigate further...!

Hello again.

I have done some more testing, and it isn't related to start up items, it happens every single time I open Emby Theatre with the remote, ET is not the prominent application so I then have to click on it with a mouse to bring it to the front, for it to then respond to further remote presses.

If I open Emby Theatre with a mouse it's okay.

It does seem to be a new problem since the Windows 10 anniversary update was installed - any ideas on how I might fix it?

thanks

how have you set it up to open with the remote?

I have mapped a keyboard shortcut to Emby Theatre (Ctrl + Alt + E) then I have 'taught' that command to a logitech harmony remote using an old Windows Media Centre IR keyboard.

I have found a workaround, or a new way of doing it.

Moving the Emby Theatre launch icon to postion 1 on the taskbar, and then mapping Win+1 key to my remote, also launches Emby Theatre, and when I do it that way, it responds to the remote straight away.

Very odd

Hi,

I see this also, as like focus for the remote is lost on the landing page of EMBY. I call the app again with the and it will work, was fine for a long while. Not sure what version introduced this behavior. I have EMBY on the task bar so Windows+4 as the forth icon launches the app.

Agree with the OP not sure where now to find my current verison, please put back on the UI for reference.

I have a maybe related issue.

When my HTPC wakes from sleep and the EMBY screen backdrop screen saver is running, no remote commands work. Previously I could press the arrows or "u-turn" on the remote to leave the screensaver.

I also start EMBY with "Win+1" but as mentioned it is already running.
