Movie library scrolls to beginning

I think this has been reported, previously. When you scroll to a movie and go to its detail page then back out, you are sent back to the beginning of your collection. I only have about 600 movies, for those with thousands, this must be a nightmare. It would be nice if the position were remembered.

The full desktop app?

I cannot reproduce that with the desktop app or XB1 version.  Returns to whence I came...

It does this on the PC but not the xbox one, at least in my experience.

To reproduce:

  1. Launch Emby Theater
  2. Open All Movies
  3. Click a letter in the navigation pane at the bottom.
  4. Scroll forward from there to a letter further down the alphabet.  In my test I clicked L and then scrolled until I got into movies starting with P.
  5. Click a movie to see its details.
  6. Click back or use the back button on the mouse.

At that point your library will jump back to the letter you chose in step 3.  It's freaking annoying.

You're lucky then. What is described in the first post has been the behavior since it was released. One of the things that makes the app borderline unusable.

Does it only happen when you use a mouse? I can only reproduce it when using a mouse. If I select with remote or keyboard, it works as expected, but with a mouse it goes back to whatever letter you have indexed. This would probably be why it doesn't happen in the Xbox app

Correction, it goes back to whatever was last focus framed.

Only with the mouse. If I scroll with the keyboard, the letter scrolls according to where I am in the library. Scrolling with the mouse, the chosen letter remains static.

Only use a mouse myself. Don't own a remote for my PC. Never tried the keyboard and wouldn't know what keys do what in the navigation. Besides using a keyboard seems painful.

Does the same thing on TV Series/albums etc - its not resetting the focus on the "letters" when you click(select) on the movie/tv series to look at the detail

it does loose focus (on the letter) if you click on the top menu e.g. "upcoming" - and when you return to "series" the letter focus is back to A - not sure that's right either :)

This happens with me also. If I scroll to a later h (for example) then move a long to a movie starating with s. Go in to said movie decide to back out via either remote or mouse takes back to h (in this example)

I think this is related:

I have multiple TV libraries (e.g. TV, Cartoons, etc) - If I drill down into a second or subsequent TV library (e.g. Cartoons > All Series > Series  > Season > Episode Detail) and then back out to the main screen, I will always end up at the first library. If I only go so far as a Season, backing out will leave me at the correct library on the main screen.

So like this? But you'd prefer to end up at the library you started at?

That is simply because the app keeps the state in memory for a limited number of screens, and once you go far down enough it will be recycled.
