Z0r0b 1
I am running some old codecs / apps so that fast/forward and rewind work within Emby on WMC (windows 7). I used Media Control 6.0.8, which is very old and not being updated anymore (and has bugs that require the occasional restart) - it does a great job of fast forwarding/rewind, but requires an older ffdshow version to work. I use K-lite codec pack, 9.9.5 (both 64 and 32 bit versions installed). That includes ffdshow rev4513 May 20, 2013. Newer versions of ffdshow aren't compatible with Media Control, and so i lose fast forward/rewind. Now this was all working reasonably well, but lately i'm finding more and more MKVs being released that refuse to play with my setup. They play fine in MPC, but WMC (which is using the 64 bit version of ffdshow) can't play them. I just see a black screen when i attempt playback. Is there a better solution to this that will allow me latest codec versions to be installed but somehow get the wonderful fast forward/rewind functionality? Skipping is just not an option. Luke 37029
Hi, Emby for Windows Media Center simply uses the video player built into Windows Media Center. WMC in turn relies on features from the Windows operating system. It sounds like you're plugging lots of different things together to make things work. Why not try the new Emby Theater for Windows: http://emby.media/emby-theater.html Just download, install and start playing. No other software needed. Z0r0b 1
Fast Forward/Rewind only skip forward/backward on Emby Theatre as well. Why doesn't it have proper fast forward/rewind?
Luke 37029
It hasn't been added to the interface yet. To be honest, with all of the feedback we've gotten I can't even recall it coming up. Most seem to be content with short and long skipping functions.
ebr 14905
Yeah, that simply isn't a function implemented by most streaming media players these days so it isn't expected behavior anymore.

ebr 14905
I use shark007 for codecs and have 0 issues. Just installing LAV is simpler and works well .
