Emby Media Center app will not load

I was having trouble with Media Center Classic for WMC. It was working fine but recently not all the movies in my collection were showing. I tried manually scanning from the server but that did not help. I uninstalled the app for Media Center and the server numerous times. The installer for the server worked. I used revo uninstaller to scan for files after the server uninstaller failed. I have done this numerous times but to no avail. Now the WMC classic browser app will not even load. I am looking for any help I can get? I know there were recent updates to the server. Do you think this could be causing the problem? BTW i am using the unauthorized version of Media Center on Windows 10, but up till now it has been working fine.

BTW i noticed an error in my first post. The server uninstaller did NOT work so the best I could do was delete the leftover files revo uninstaller found. I am attaching both error messages WMC gives me and the log file from MB classic.

I see a couple of timeouts along with a lot of change notifications.  What is going on with the server at this time?

 

Also, the log doesn't contain the same error as the screen shot you posted.  Is it from the same session?

The above are updates that were recently install if they may have an effect. The server is working fine. I have not had any trouble with it. The last line in that log is another timeout.

 

I would try shutting down any anti-malware you have going on either the client or the server machine.

i don't have an anti-malware program but i do have avg free (the free version does not come with malware protection. However, I stopped avg and tried to open emby in wmc. This time i got the second error message i posted. Here is the log - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoU5oMA0Rl9ikCOeUnIT1q8U7vvG

 

By the way the server and the client are on the same machine - I just wanted a better way to catalog my movies.

I'm sure with enough investigation we can solve this.  However, let's back up a second and ask why you are using the WMC plug-in if this is a brand new setup?  Have you checked out the newer Emby Theater?

this is not a new setup - the wmc plugin was working fine - I just wanted a movie database that was more feature rich than the one built in to wmc. I have a lot of items that I have recorded that are copy protected so I have to play them through media center. I tried emby theatre, even signed up for a month of emy premiere - but the copy protected file would not play in emby theater.

I was referring to the emby app as compared to the movie app that is built in to wmc. I use media center master to download metadata to be used in emby Cast, trailers, backdrop, cover etc

I had a thought - is it possible that because the built in installer for the server wasn't  working and i uninstall with revo uninstaller and some many file search that something got messed up up because of that? I've tried reinstalling tried reinstalling an uninstalling but the uninstaller still gives me an error message. I think i'll try the uninstalled in compatability mode and get back to you.

Compatibility mode did not work so i tried reinstalling emby server without uninstalling, and now it works fine. Don't know why. Thanks for all your help though!
