Watch In Progress Recordings

Before Emby created its own live TV plugin, I used to be able to watch in progress recordings.  Now when you click on a recording that is in progress, Emby pops up an information screen about the recording and does not allow you to play it.

Is this something that can be implemented again?

That is exactly why I posted here. It seems that Emby has somehow overrode Serverwmc's capability.

I have not investigated how well the serverwmc plugin plays with emby's built-in live-tv, but I imagine there are problems like you are having.  If you disable emby's live-tv but keep the serverwmc plugin active, you'll be back to where you were.

As far as I can tell, I have already completely disabled Emby's live TV capability. Serverwmc functions perfectly fine except for the ability to watch an in progress recording.

I see, sorry for misunderstanding - I should have tried it first.  I'm with you, I don't understand why the ability to do this was taken away from pvr plugins.

Bumping this, as my experience is a little different than yours.

I can in fact start an in progress recording (click on active recording from recordings section, click play), plays from the beginning however you cannot skip "message playback error no compatible stream" if you try.

It is also glitchy, like there is no buffer and it tries to play so it hesitates every couple of seconds (the audio quick pause is the most noticeable).

From the Theater log I see this:

Actually, this works (for me) the glitchy behavior was related to transcoding the file (not enough CPU currently available).

I attempted this same behavior on an SD in progress recording, and it worked fine however I couldn't skip (I could pause/resume just fine).

The lack of skipping is likely related to the media details being unknown for the stream/transcode as passed to theater, as this stream does not present itself like a finished recording does in Theater with (for example) "1080P H264 5.1 AC3".

Makes sense, still odd that mine starts playing and works, and his doesn't allow it to be played.

However, he may be using another Emby client, and this results in different outcomes.

Thanks for confirming (again).

Why was the functionality removed for PVR plugins before the Emby implementation was ready? That doesn't really make any sense.
