Using a mouse on the progress bar in TV mode

This has been brought up before, in other threads, but now I think it needs its own. When set to TV mode in ET, if you use a mouse to click on the progress bar to skip forward or back, it will only jump to certain positions. If you aren't aligned with one of those positions, it won't skip forward or back at all. This is also true if you try dragging it. In desktop mode, it works better, but still not any position. It has been this way from the beginning. It would be really nice, for those of us that don't use a remote, to be able to use the progress bar correctly.

How can I help you discover this? Others have reported this, too. I posted a screen capture of this happening. Could it be because it's on the same machine as the server? GPU related? I'd be happy to provide anything you need.

I've noticed this as well. Windows 10 /  Xeon E3-1221v3 / GTX 970 /16gb RAM

edit: my server is a different machine. It's running an emby server docker on unraid.

Thank you for making this thread. This is an extremely annoying bug. I experience this issue almost 50% of the time when I am attempting to skip ahead with my mouse. Please fix!

(I was just about to make my own thread about this..surprising that you've never run into this, Luke)

Do you guys see it in the web version at tv.emby.media?

The web app is a bit different. The progress bar indicator jumps to where you click, but (and I'm assuming because it's remuxing) takes a few seconds to resume playing from the backdrop.

I have found that to easily reproduce the issue, I have tested it in many ways:

with a 22 min sitcom

a 44 minute drama

a 1.5 hour movie

a 3 hour movie

I say this because the length of the video is proportional to the timeline's length to video's time as we all know. first off, I have reproduced the issues easiest by using at least a 44/60 min video. Click to try and skip a 3-5 min time frame and then click maybe half that distance again. Like you were searching for a particular line of dialogue in the video. You will see the results detailed in previous posts, I have found that my moving the mouse away and letting the status/info bar go away, the problem does not happen.

Yup....same here...really annoying that I can't skip to a direct spot on the progress bar at will.  It's usually handy when I missed something and want to repeat it briefly, but sometimes I have to go WAY back...
