kanipek 229 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 If this is available now please point me to it! It would be great if we could get keyword or wishlist recording. Something similar to what is in WMC. I use it quite frequently in WMC when I am scheduling things to record. If WMC doesn't find a particular series or movie I will then choose "wishlist or keyword" and then choose from Actor Name, Director Name, Movie Title, Program Title or Generic Keyword. I can then choose from several options including channel, new/repeat etc. Very handy for when I see or hear about future series or specials I can set it up and WMC will record it when it shows up. I don't know if this is possible and/or planned for Emby but it would be huge. Thanks for reading and considering! 7

This would be incredibly helpful for irregularly broadcast content such as movies and TV Shows 1
Spaceboy 2560 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Also very useful for when you know a new program is coming but it's not in the epg yet 1 1
bungee91 104 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 +1 to this request, I figure this is an item that will inevitably be added to make the DVR more full featured. So I suppose my question would be, any chance this is a request that could be added soonish (< year or more away)? I also believe at this time the guide is only searched by program name, and no synopsis/detail screen. Therefore making a search for an NFL football team return no results (such as me searching for "Chicago Bears" would return zero results as the program title is NFL Football). I'd assume that function (search returning results from synopsis/detail screen) would be needed prior to keyword/wishlist recording being possible, so maybe this request is already planned following that addition.
Luke 38502 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Keyword-based recordings will be landing in the server beta channel in the next build. Thanks. 1 1
bungee91 104 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 superb, and a like isn't enough to express my excitement for this! One thing to mention as this is being implemented, a primary use case for me is to record NFL games for a specific team. When previously using the HDHR record engine this could simply be done by setting a series recording as I believe the guide data correctly reflected the team in the title and not just "NFL Football" as I recall was the case last season with Emby guide date. I just want to mention that as I thought it made sense by default for that functionality (and to not record ALL NFL games), and HDHR at the time didn't have any keyword or wishlist recording abilities (no idea at this point. haven't used it in over a year). Waiting anxiously.

RobDenny 5 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 just updated to 4.8.0.4 and seems to work perfectly ! thanks @Luke Set a search recording for "chernobyl" and have something recording tonight. nice
pünktchen 1312 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 (edited) @Lukeit would be better to allow keywords for title, subtitle and overview at the same time instead of limiting it to one field! Also currently there's no way to edit the keywords of those keyword based series recordings. Edited July 13, 2022 by pünktchen

gillmacca01 155 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Being dumb here, but where can I find this?

gillmacca01 155 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Option not on chrome on an android phone, that will explain why I couldn't find it. Will check my laptop when I get home
gillmacca01 155 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Solved it. If I tell android chrome to view as desktop, then the option appears, it just doesn't appear in the mobile page yet 1

One series schedule but the search has to match title, subtitle and overview in any combination if they are filled with keywords. 3 hours ago, RobDenny said: delete and recreate the recording to edit it? I know that works, but this is not user friendly. The keyword based recording does create a series schedule where we can edit every aspect but not the keyword itself. That doesn't make sense from a user perspective.
gillmacca01 155 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 I agree, there should be a way to edit or delete the keyword recording. I personally would have preferred it show a list of what it has found, and then the user can select what to record, but it's a start, and I'm sure further upgrades/improves can be made if there is demand for them
Spaceboy 2560 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 @Luke any chance we might see this in stable soon? would be good for the new sports seasons

Yes you'll be able to edit the existing keyword series, and I did some homework with WMC and I like the way it shows you a preview of what programs match the criteria when you're setting it up, so I'd like to add that as well. And yes of course matching on more fields than just what is currently there. 2

It just needs more testing first and user feedback. So if you can help with that on the beta channel, then it increase our confidence level about putting it in a 4.7.X release.

kanipek 229 Posted July 14, 2022 Author Posted July 14, 2022 Limited testing here. It seems to work well. I am pretty excited by this feature! Thanks to the dev team! 1
