cargsl 0
I've just installed Emby and started using it and its amazing. Something that I don't really understand though is why is the server running 8+ ffmpeg instances when no client is actually playing anything? I thought it could be a scheduled task, but according to the server, no task are currently running. I don't mind that emby is doing something, but I'd really like to know what is it that keeps an 8 core machine at 70% utilization. Thanks
pir8radio 1292
how large is your library? and when did you install emby? Emby/FFMPEG will run through your videos to get scene screen shots and what not. If you have a decent amount of videos this can take some time. Normally you wouldn't see any instances if no one is streaming.
Deathsquirrel 741
Another possible task is any sync jobs you've setup.
AFFASocial 6
I had to change the schedule task to once a week as it would run every day around 10am it would scan the system per the setting every 12 hours, also change the other schedules to once week it is likely those settings.
