Bumpers, 'Commercials' during/between shows/movies

I have a huge collection of old cartoon network bumpers, classic superbowl commercials, etc.  Right now I have a library just for commercials and bumpers,

My users have said how they never get anything done because they fall in an endless trap of watching whole seasons because of the autoplay.  I thought it would be cool to play a 1 or more short videos after every x hours of video watching or between tv shows.

For instance, my end goal would be to download all good commercials and bumpers and eventually map out every show to a tv guide that goes back to the beginning of such things.  It would be cool to have this type of feature where you choose to watch comedy central in 1995 april 10th etc.  The shows etc would be exactly in the order they were originally.

They are random.  I wanted to assign dragon ball z bumpers to dbz, etc.  Plus they are the same trailers for tv and movie, no separation.

The trailer mode or cinema mode works great for watching a movie. I would like to breakup my playlusts with a music video, cartoon, or trailer between entries.  I think this would work for Untoten as well. He is asking for a timer setting and not just a break between entries.  That sounds like a great addition as well.  Thanks Untoten.

Couldn't this be done with the VirualTV plugin? My understanding is that you can set a folder with videos that the plugin use to interleave with the regular schedule. I have no tested the plugin in a long time so i'm not really sure how it works but it might worth to take a look at it. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/80828-virtualtv-plugin/

Sort of, but the bumpers and commercials would show up in the live tv guide.

Well I tried that and it would work except.  It looks like I have to create a library with my holiday tv shows in it.  (instead of just having all my TV shows together)  I have multiple TV show libraries based upon where they originated).

Also my Music Video's would have to be moved to my pictures directory ( That is what Virtual TV says) which would suck since they are a separate library as well and I use Trailers to get upcoming Movies and TV Shows.

So Bottom line - Virtual TV seems like a great thing but not for me (yet)  Why is it unsupported and not in the plugin library?)

I think that if Virtual TV could add reference to Playlists, Collections, or allow selection by Genre, that might work but bumpers selection should support the same references as well.

I am not going to attempt to reconfigure my libraries again just to get another feature that may be unsupported and change in the future.

Thanks for your input!

Oh,  Sorry to run on like this but 2 more quick comments:

1.) If Virtual TV were to do an update with these new features - they should also add a selection to trigger the bumper at the end of the selection playback and not just based on time (not sure if setting the time to 0 would do this).  The time setting as is,  is a great feature as well.

2.) Is this the correct place to submit feedback to Emby for feature requests?

Hi.  Virtual TV is a 3rd party add-on.  There is a thread for it in the plug-ins section if you would like to make recommendations for features for it.

Thanks.
