EduardoSantos 40
Hi, I am running Emby Server v. 3.0.5972.0 on Windows 10. There is a strange behavior when accessing music by genre: - When I open an album it is listed by Emby as "Jazz Vocal" genre; - All tracks are listed as "Jazz Vocal" genre; - When I access "Jazz Vocal" genre, both the album and the tracks are correctly listed; Problem is that album and tracks are also listed as "Jazz" genre. Random play on Jazz will also include these "Jazz Vocal" tracks. Is this behavior expected? If so how can I depart these genres? Thanks
Luke 36879
Hi, you can edit the tags embedded in the tracks themselves. They probably have lots of crossover genres such as this type of scenario.
EduardoSantos 40
Luke, I have double checked and there is only "Jazz Vocal" as the genre of the mentioned tracks. No other genres. Also Emby Server will list the track as being from just "Jazz Vocal" genre. But when I browse Jazz the tracks and albuns are listed. Should I attach an MP3 file? Happy2Play 8138
Or list a specific example Artist-Album-Track name and number
EduardoSantos 40
Sirs, As a matter of fact I verified again and the attached mp3 file, which contains only the genre "Jazz Vocal", is listed by Emby on genres: "Jazz Vocal", "Jazz" and "Vocal". This happens both to the track ("St. Louis blues") and the album ("The 1940's: The Singers"). It seems Emby server considers the space as a separator... Any comment will be of great use. For me the genre is just 'Jazz Vocal' too. space is not a separator afaik See if you can get Emby to right itself by refreshing / checking if any nfos in same folder on the file system have old/incorrect info / removing from file system and putting back. Did you edit the metadata embeded in file tags since Emby ingested in the first instance? maybe a screen shot showing the file have all three genres will help. despite luke not saying so, i dont think your experience is the intended design. ebr 14855
Make sure that character is actually a space and not some other invisible character.
