MEB 26
Just started setting up my video backdrops through TVTunes on Kodi but they seem to not work on ET yet, is that something that will be added?

MEB 26
To enjoy video backdrops, just pull up a detail screen for a video that has one and it will start playing I've tried it with many different shows but they seem to not be working on ET, they are all named as theme.mp4 or theme.avi. Only cycles through the static backdrops when I select a show. Would logs help or am I just missing something like naming convention? The theme videos are located in each shows root dir. AdrianW 1052
Check out the wiki to learn how to organize your video backdrops: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Theme%20songs%20&%20videos The important bit being: they need to be inside a "backdrops" folder. The video names are irrelevant.
arrbee99 1551
Excuse my total lack of imagination, but what do you use for backdrops - trailers for the film maybe (would be the easiest if it could be some kind of option), clips you make out of the film, stuff like that. For TV shows I used the opening title credits - Game of Thrones and Walking Dead look really good. If you have a blu-ray with background menu video, extracting and using that is a good idea. arrbee99 1551
Can try credits and background videos to menus, though when I extract the movie from the disc that stuff tends to get chucked. Still might try trailers. I found a user made trailer on YouTube for Alien in HD that looks nice - well I think it looks nice, that ET background is so dark its difficult to tell..... While I'm here (in the wrong forum for this), are video backdrops supposed to work in Chrome using the ordinary web interface (not ET in Chrome), cos it doesn't work for me ? Vidman 589
If you insist on using trailers for backdrops ensure you don't sign on to radeons video theme contributor network
arrbee99 1551
I don't insist, its a possibility, I was essentially asking what people typically do. I had also never heard of radeons video theme contributor network till you mentioned it.
Jack Burton 94
They're not free, but totally worth it in my opinion: In the plugins section you can use Movie Theme Songs, Movie Theme Videos, TV Theme Songs, and TV Theme Videos. They're the Radeon themes as mentioned above. They work great in ET, and auto update, though there's still a lot of content there's no themes for. It looks like the content that is there is a mix of intros and menu screens from dvd/blurays. Game of Thrones is really pretty epic, going through all the houses and stuff. Highly recommend
