Chromecast Offline with Android App?

Hey guys,

 

Work recently gave me an Android phone to use. I've been travelling a lot lately, and was wondering if the Android App would work with a Chromecast when not connected to the server. Is it possible to just mirror, or cast from the phone while offline using videos I've synced to the phone? Thanks.

Ah ok, thanks. I don't mind connecting online to the server while traveling, but I don't want video to be streaming from home. If I stay connected, is it possible to cast from a synced video on my phone?

That I am not sure about, but I believe the answer is that it's not currently possible....with the emby app at least

You could use the emby client to sync to your phone and then use something like allcast / localcast app to cast the downloaded file to your Chromecast
