Image changes don't stay

When in the web interface I change the image for a movie. It changes and refreshing the page shows the new image. Then, I presume on the library rescan it reverts back to the original that is stored in the nfo as a url.

Is there a setting to stop emby doing this?

Do you have metadata and images saved with media?  If so when you make the changes are the new images saved in the media folder?  What are the image names in media folder?

Hi,

Sorry. Some folders have banner.jpg and movie.year-fanart.jpg which is generated by external software. All folders have an nfo file, also generated externally to emby with a url to the poster.

Thanks

ok, it sounds like you have chosen to disable saving metadata in media folders and this is why you're seeing this behavior.

You need to choose - either delete the tbn file, or allow Emby to save metadata in media folders so that the tbn can be replaced. What's happening is images located directly in the media folder are always given the highest priority. So first you replace the image using the web interface, then later the library scan rediscovers the tbn and gives that one priority.
