You guys can feel free to start testing this. Just be aware, it will currently only work if your channel numbers in the xml data match the channel numbers coming from your HDHR.  Later this week we'll have a channel mapping feature that will allow you to map them manually.

Enjoy.

Fantastic. Did you have to customize any categories?

Yes i had to because my XMLTV file is in dutch so i had to change the values from movie to Film and so on. (my emby installation is also in dutch but the xmltv section is not yet available in dutch)

I have found one issue, when i want to edit my xmltv options it keeps loading... see attachment for screenshot and striped logfile

EDIT:
I saw i was using 3.1.6001.24161 so not the latest version (3.1.11-beta) but also with that version is the dutch translation not available and is the xmltv settings page not loading when i want to edit some stuff, the first time it is working normal.

Here's a copy of my XmlTV listings provider found in /config/LiveTv.xml. To configure the channel mappings copy the relevant section and update to your own values.

    </ListingsProviderInfo>

Luke has also pulled in a change to make the genre mapping case insensitive - so any trouble with Movies / News / Sports / Kids etc could be down to case sensitivity and will be relieved once the change finds it way out.

I did a bit of testing and can confirm that genre mapping is case sensitive as soon as I change from movie to Movie the categories are filled.

It doesn't let me edit the settings I get the same as the other member has reported I have to delete the xml tv feed and create another one. If I click on it all I get is a spinning circle with blank values.

As my channels do not line up xmltv feed I only get data for three channels. Looking forward to improvements.

I have also tested downloading from web page url using details below with my user id and password and I get schedules direct error.

http://iceguide.icet...e&desc_length=0 -u userid -p password

Instructions are from http://support.icetv...IceTV-XML-data-

Even if it did work the guide data would still be wrong because there needs to be a time offset option added hopefully that can be added soon I found a workaround but it just involves few extra steps.

So is XMLTV better to use with HDHomeRuns, or is Scheduled Direct still better ??

If XMLTV, where do I get an XMLTV file from for the UK FTA channels please ??

If you aren't having any issues with SD, then I would think that is still your best option.

In 3.1.12 you should be able to go back and edit exiting xmltv setups.

Hi Luke

Very keen to know if the XML feed will work from an URL rather than having to use a XML Downloader, scheduler etc.?

Also, you mentioned in your first post you'll have a channel mappings to help match the XML to that of the numbers assigned on the HDHomeRuns later this week...I assume this hasn't been released with Version 3.1.6003.18681 as yet?

Thanks

Scot

The screenshot in post 6 shows that you can input a url . The question I think you want to know the answer to tho is if it will accept the compressed file that freeepg serves

For those interested - I get my xmltv data from www.webgrabplus.com - they have siteini files for most anywhere.

Bit convoluted to run  - I use Task Scheduler

A sub to digiguide for Windows plus dg2xml still works in the UK. Had it going at the w/email when I thought Dvblink and removed support for the digiguide plugin

Vidman, true....given that Australia only has this guide to pull from (in terms of a URL) and given that it is compressed it would be good if it could be automatically decompressed...

It's interesting that you mention DigiGuide - I wrote the XmlTv component for Emby we are testing at the moment - however I would like to consume their XmlTv exports and possible write a direct ListingsProvider to consume their API and populate Emby with the rich data they provide that isn't in the XmlTv spec - however I cannot get hold of anyone by email or by phone.

If anyone has any contact details for developers or anyone at DigiGuide can you reply, either on here or direct please!

i don't know, there is a link to a discussion forum at the bottom of that api page. there used to be a wider forum but that seems to have gone. i remember posting there about additional channels and the like. i've been a digiguide customer for getting on for 10 years. dg2xml for a long while then dvblink added them as an official provider for a while but that was discontinued last year although thankfully they have continued support for existing customers. as i say i tried out dg2xml last weekend and it still all works fine. you have to have digiguide for windows installed.

my recollection is we were fairly open about using dg2xml on their forum and they didnt mind.

in the latest builds you can see what the channel mapping ui will look like, you just can't change anything yet.

and yes try using a url.
