I'm guessing you have all Emby internet metadata features turned off?

Under

Metadata / Services /

1) Movies everything is ticked with the exception of Fetch Images cause I have already downloaded them

2) Series/Seasons/Episodes/Collections/People I am fetching everything

Under Metadata/NFO settings nothing is ticked cause I use movies.xml in the folders, not nfo files

If I fetch movies images too, where are they saved? As long as they don't get saved in my network folders where I save the movies, I can happily turn that on.

Are there any other settings I should watch out for?

The per library settings.  Click on each library via Dashboard-Library-Libraries.

Under manage folders option for my Movies folder, nothing is ticked with the exception of "enable real time monitoring".

If I tick the "Download artwork and medatata from the internet" and not tick the "save artwork and metadata directly into media folders" where will the data be saved?

Also if I thick the download in advance option, will this make the loading of the homepage faster?

Which metadata will then EMBY use? My MCM xmls or it's own new downloaded metadata?

If you disable all of the internet metadata features then it is your (MCM's) job to handle it. I would suggest turning them back on. I would also suggest re-enabling NFO support in case you might have disabled that.

After merging the folders and refreshing the people, I now have 175K folders in that path, and most of the pictures are back. The one that are not displayed in the UI are also missing from the folders, which tallies.

I still have MCM pull all my information but have all Emby's setting enabled also.  All nfo savers uncheck so I assume any updates or missing data are only written to the database as the xmls aren't being updated.

That kind of configuration will leave you prone to that missing data being lost later. For example, Emby adds missing data, but due to your configuration it goes into the database only. If at some point later the xml file is updated outside of Emby, then the media will be refreshed from local metadata except that missing data will be lost because the local metadata doesn't have it.

Currently though I don't see any metadata that is missing from MCM metadata.  Only issue I ever saw was TagLines and they appear fine now.  I guess a true test would be setting up another system and disabling Emby option and see how well Emby reads MCM metadata.

I do not think Happy2Play and CBers they will stop using MCM :)

I used to used these and others, now days I do not, emby doing more than enough, I think the metadata manage software only up with bulk edit for titles.

Moderate there also :) Well you figure MediaBrowser couldn't do what Emby can do now so those other tools were needed and still are compatible.

So I test to know what works.

I know buddy re mod :)

Yes it good to have tools here and there, but I do not think any app dev's can keep up with Emby and Luke :)

Well theoretically metadata format really never changes so I don't see why it continuously breaks.
