Cloud sync job for latest episodes?

Hello,

i am trying to cloud sync (google drive) the latest 50 tv show episodes which were added to my library. I tried setting it up via "tv shows" -> "latest" --> "sync", but this sync job does not include episodes, which are added AFTER the sync job was created. It just syncs the latest 50 episodes which were there at the sync job creation and then does nothing.

Plex can do this and i thought emby could, too. Does anyone know how to do this with emby?

Cheers

Jan

I might be misstaken but the next time the sync job runs it should include the newley added ones?

If you want it to be really up to date, set the job to run more often!

Nope, it does not include the newly added episodes. I restarted the jobs mutiple times, waited half a day, restarted the server...

Maybe it is because of the quantity limit (50 in my case)? There are already 50 episodes synced, so maybe it just stops after that and does not add new episodes?

I think you need to do it on a per series basis, and enable the "Sync unwatched videos only", if needed, and the "Automatically sync new content" option.

I tested it, the quantity limit is the problem. If i remove one of the 50 previously synced episodes manually, one newly added episode of the "latest" category gets synced. The sync job does not remove the oldest files to make room for the newly added ones...

@@CBers : Your solution works temporarily, but it will run into the same problem i think. Or am i missing something?

Depends how quick your syncing takes against how often you add new items I guess.

That is assuming that there is a limit, which I don't believe there is, as I did see someone post a little while back, that when they checked their sync queue, it had over 2000 items in it.

Yes, there may be no limit in theory, but i want to set a limit for the sync, because it would take ages to sync everything and only the latest few episodes are of interest. I cannot use the option "sync unwatched only" as a limiting factor, because then the content would be removed if one user watches it and another user would try to watch it later.

The problem is, that there is no option for "remove oldest items to make room for newly added items" when the item limit is set...

Under ADVANCED in the SYNC dialog, there is an ITEM LIMIT option - "Set a limit to the number of items that will be synced".

Yes, this is the limit i used (50) :-)

The problem is still as described. It syncs exactly 50 items, after that no newly added items are synced, because the limit is already reached.

There is no option to remove the oldest items as new items are added (as i mentioned above). This option would be needed, because emby will (and should) keep within the total item limit, as it was configured.

Don't limit it then :)

I think they're removed as you watch them.

1. No limit is not possible. I have too much content on my HDD, altough i have 1 TB google drive space :-)

2. I would like to quote myself: " I cannot use the option "sync unwatched only" as a limiting factor, because then the content would be removed if one user watches it and another user would try to watch it later."

Having that kind of option is a nice idea and something we could think about for a future release.
