fyi:
This addon breaks the organizer dialog in the recent Emby version. The "ok" button doesn't work anymore.

Since all the auto organize features are being pulled is this plugin going to be updated soon?

Hello, Guys,

What is the current status of this hm, plugin?

Is it working? What is the version compliance?

Thank you!

Yes you can blame us (Emby), because we started having softworkz help us in other areas and he might not have time for this anymore.

Don't give up hope for this! :-)

This feature is highly important for me - even in a way that it's a major decision point for using emby privately or not (at least auto-organize as a whole).

I've been busy for a few months due to other work I had been doing for emby and other projects.

The truth is that the version of emby that I'm running in "production" (= living room) is half a year old, which means that everything is still working for me :-)

I will look into it. But not this week and not next week. Seems the only current solution is to go back to an older emby version...

@softworkz, that's not true. it's all self contained in the new auto-organize plugin.

What is not true? Is there an other way to get movie organization than to go back to an older emby version?

Emby never had movie organization directly, only via your pull request. So yes this will require new development into the new plugin, but the good news it that the code hasn't changed much, it's just in a new home.

Well, the pull request was just one option - hoping to get it included into main.

The other option was the plugin that I created which was "magically" modifying the built-in Auto-Organize feature to include movie organization.

And that plugin appears to be the subject of this thread. To get it working again - I still suppose - there is no other option than going back to an earlier version of emby.

....at this time at least - that's what I meant.

I'll be glad helping to introduce this feature to the current code, soon! :-)

Any news or infos over this addon ? I think this was a good thing if this was implemented in the organizer again. I should need this for recordings...

I find it absurd that MB/Emby seems to keep loosing functionality, I find myself now looking for a 3rd party app just to programmatically add movies to my collection. All the emphasis seems to be on sorting all the TV Series, but you guys have to remember that people collect Movies too, Just give us a monitored folder and a way to format the added folder and how we want the movie named similar to the way Media Center Master handles it. As a matter of fact if you guys would get to get together with the Media Center Master guy and make some kind of API for MCM to populate and manage the Emby library.db might be a great idea.

hi @Scott Kemp, Emby never had an organize movies feature. this entire topic is community contributed volunteer plugin. do you still find it absurd? thanks for the feedback !

@softworkz, first of all big thanks for your effort!

Is it possible to get this - in its current state - working on a Linux machine?

Hi guys,

as sad as it may be for some of you - I finally had to make a decision on this topic in a way that I cannot continue development in this area.

The simple reason is that I don't need this functionality anymore because I switched to other ways for content acquisition which already include automatic organization and save it to the right place in my emby libraries.

While it would be a rather trivial task to merge my code into the new Auto-Organize plugin, I'm unable to support and maintain this over time.

If any developer would be interested to jump in here, I'd be glad to assist once...

I apologize that I don't have any better news at this time...
