Hello,

I'm having an issue with metadata for specials episode.

I have a collection called Anime where in it, I have Drabon Ball, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Z.

Each of them have successfully download there metadata from the internet, except for GT and Z which they can't properly download metadata.

For exemple, S00E01 of Dragon Ball Z is dead zone. For an unknown reason, it download the metadata of S01E01, Sercret of the dragon balls, from Dragon Ball serie (and not dragon ball z). Even weirder, it download the overview of the S00E01 Dead Zone (the good one).

I have a metadata folder inside the dragonball Z folder, it's locked, but it contain the real information. Thus, I don't even know where this information come from (is there a separate database beside s00e01.xml from metadata folder?).

It does the samething wit all Dragon Ball Z specials episode (I tried renaming the folder specials or Season 0, change nothing, it always fetch all the information from Season 1 of Dragon Ball with the overview of Season 0 from Dragon Ball Z) and with Dragon Ball GT.

Thanks

You want it from file manager, web client..?

I've found out that all dragon ball GT and Z are now screwed, even normal season...

Ok, here they are with more detail.

All episodes of Dragon Ball Z and GT have updated. They all took episode information (except overview) from Dragon Ball, regardless of series (mostly Season 1).

Because of that, for exemple, Season 1 of Dragon Ball Z only show 1 episode (and it's the last special of Dragon Ball). see image 8. But in the folder (image 7), there's clearly more then that.

Image 1 show folder structure

Image 2 show content of dragon ball z\specials

Image 3 show metadata folder of specials

Image 4 show what I see in specials from Web Client

Image 5 is Special 2 from Dragon Ball Z. Notice it says Season 1, episode 2, have the name and sort name of Dragon Ball Season 1 Episode 2, but it have the overview of Dragon Ball Z Season 1 Episode 2 (not even the good one since it's Specials 0 Episode 2 it should have). To complicate the matter, the id from thetvdb.com is 355413, which is Dragon Ball Z Special 0 Episode 2...

Image 6 show the metadata file for Dragon Ball Z Special Episode 2. This file contain the right data, but this isn't what get showed.

Something else I just found out. Looking at the episode list in metadata edit, they don,t take the right season too. In this image, we see Season 1 with only 1 episode (bad to start with) without the good name (it's dragon ball specials).

After, in Season 2, the top 3 are specials episode (that have name from Dragon Ball Season 1). Then, the episode list are name from Dragon Ball Z Season 1 instead of Season 2. Samething happen with Dragon Ball GT

Each epsiode and series have the good ID from thetvdb.com. All file from metadata folder have the right information.

I've cut the image because the remaining of the file is the same (image 2), going from S00E01.xml to S00E18.xml with relative -mediainfo.data

Here's the metadata content of S00E02, showed in image 5. You'll see it doesn't match.

Funny thing is all description from the root folder (aka dragon ball z) have the right information when fetched (and have the right tv show id)

Image 7, from S01E01 to S01E39, with season.xml and metadata folder. And metadata folder is the same as image 3, with corresponding name (S01E01 to S01E39.xml)

Funny thing, I did all those metadata from Web Client like 2 months ago. It seems latest version just overwrite all of them with weird data.

It also affect mb classic and mb theater. I don't know where they got there data since the metadata file says otherwise. Using other program like media center master for metadata fetching, it report all episode correctly. It's only latest beta version of mb server (Version 3.0.5112.40848) that seems to mix everything.

Refresh metadat? Yup, that's when everything got screwed.

I finally fixed it, but I'm unsure for how much time. I disabled internet metadata fetching from web client (globaly). Then, I launched Media Browser Classic from MC. In there, I browse to the dragon ball z folder. Once I had specials selected, I hit ctrl + r for a force reload (didn't find how to do this with webclient and mbt). It reloaded the whole folder and read the metadata from the file. I did that with all seasons and root folder. Voila, everything is fixed.

Now, I'm putting metadata fetcher back online and see if it will do that again.

that's the same thing as using refresh from the edit page. the only reason why it appears different to you is because you changed settings before going to mbc. glad you're back up and running.

Well, turned metadata internet fetcher back online and everything is fixed, fetching is ok.

I remember however that I already had this problem before with 2.x. Turning off the fetcher was the only way I had solved it.

Next time, I'll try to remember to turn off internet fetcher then use refresh from the web client. Right now, I still have a mc classic mainly for the fact that I can do ctrl + r. Is there a way to do this in mbt?

no but you can do that from the palm of your head on the couch with a tablet or smart phone
